Products I'm Hitting Pan On

Its not often I finish a make up product. Body care, hair care...I go through like no tomorrow. The occasional eyeliner or mascara gets used up, but its not so often I use a lot of a "pan" product. By which I mean those that are packaged inside a metal, well, pan. So its kind f a big deal to me when I "hit pan" on a product. I realise this is quite pathetic, but it excites me and I dont know why. So heres the products Im currently hitting pan on...

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 003 Peach Glow
This setting powder has served its purpose well. Its been great for setting my makeup with, but does create quite a matte finish as the name suggests. I prefer a more dewy look, but my skin can tend to look a little oily so only a small amount of this dusted over my face does the trick. Its very cheap too which is always a bonus.

GOSH Creamy Compact Make-up in Beige 2
This is basically a cream foundation. I had a penchant for cream foundations when I was about 17...and Ive had this since then, which explains how gross and battered it looks! Its probably well past its expiry date but thats not something Im too fussed with. I actually love this, it creates an amazingly flawless base. Sadly I think its been discontinued as I cant find it anywhere, so I have been using this little bit sparingly. I think Ill always have a cream foundation in my collection though, theyre my favourites for nights out.

Natural Collection Eyeshadow in Willow
This is the first eyeshadow Ive ever hit pan on, and its the cheapest one I own too! The only blush Ive ever finished was also Natural Collection, which speaks volumes that cheap doesnt always mean its rubbish. Anyway, I absolutely love this eyeshadow the perfect lightish taupey shade. Its also really nice quality, and only about £2...Bargain!

What products are you hitting pan on? I think it shows which products are really truly loved!

Haul: From My Dear Friend Who's Moving to MILAN.

Yes, a lovely family friend of mine is moving to Milan. In fact, she will be on the plane there as I type this. Im so so soooo jealous, but hopefully next sumer I will be taking a trip over there...free accomodation and tour guide, yes please! Anyhow she has literally got rid of everything she owns as she didnt want to take everything with her, so heres a few of the freebies I got, all completely unused...until i got my paws on them :)

Excuse my Mr Men cup of (dirty!) brushes in the background haha. Im really looking forward to reading the Audrey Hepburn book which is written by her son. I love her, and know Ill find it really interesting. Ive alreayd looked through at al the beautiful photos and cant wait to read it!

Also I got these little tea lights of oneof my favourite Yankee Candle scents for summer, clean cotton. So no doubt they wil all be burnt out pretty soon, now the make-up...

Jan reassured me that these were all unused and she had aquired them all pretty recently, so I wasnt going to shove ancient products on my skin so I gladly took them off her hands.

Ive never used any Gatineau products, but family members have told me its really good, and these are two 50ml tubes of the cleansing cream, but need to be used wet. It says its anti- aging which I dont suppose I need but Ill give them a go, they smell lovely and fresh too!

When I stayed at The Langdale with David last year, all the products in our room sand in the spa were Elemis products. I loved each and every product I used, they were in a different class from products I normally use, so luxurious and beautiful. So I was really excited to try this Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel. Again, its anti-aging, but it also exfoliates and is good for dul and tired skin, which mine has a tendency to look like this. Its packed with exotic fruit extracts and general good stuff for your skin such as Vit E, so Im looking forward to using it!

Then theres the little pot of The Body Shop's Vitamin E Night Cream. I already use the toner and the body lotion and its generally one of my favourite lines to use, and I have been needing a night cream too as Ive recently just been usng the same moisturiser day and night. I used this last night, it has the lovely smell that the whole range does, is thick but not too thick, and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and velvety after application. This little tub will last ages, but I think I may have to buy it myself when this is done.

I was really excited to try the Smashbox products Jan gave me, as Ive never used their products before. The waterproof eyeshadow/liner is Starstuck I find to be a gorgeous dark taupey brown colour (swatches below). However Ive lost my thin liner brush, so Ive been using it more as a base/cream eyeshadow and it worked really well to create a dark smokey eye, its really gorgeous and long lasting!

The Smashbox Double Exposure Cheek and Lip colour in Speedracer is a fantastic creme blush. Its creamier than my Mac one, and goes on a dream, no patchiness at all. It a lovely natural colour, as if you have a hint of a tan across your cheeks and would go with any look. It looks more orangey in the swatch than it really is, its more brown toned, but really flattering, love it!

The Smashbox Eyeshadow in ASAP is right up my street. To me its like a cross between Mac's Woodwinked and Satin Taupe, which are both favourites of mine. Its really good quality too, comparable to my MAC or Urban Decay shadows. It gives a lovely finish and its just a fantastic addition to my collection.

The GOSH Effect Powder  in Apple Jam is just like a Barry M Dazzle Dust. I dont know how often Ill wear a lime green sparkley eye look, but you never know! It swatches really nice and Im such a magpie I can never resist sparkle. It looks kind of golden in some lights, like the swatch below...so its kind of more wearable than a pure lime green. I like it a lot.

The Rimmel Lasting Finish lipsticks and my all time favourite lipstick range. Thyere great quialty, smell amazing, really pigmented and dont dry out my lips. Oh, and theyre drugstore prices, yey! This colour (shown below) is 124 Bordeaux. Its way darker than I would ever pick up in the shop myself, but its actually gorgeous! Its a lovely deep red wine colour which will be so lovely for winter time. I dont have a deep red like this in my collection so Im glad to have this now, and in my favourite lipstick formula too!

The Rimmel lipstick above...so pretty!

Top Left: Gosh Apple Jam Effect Powder
Bottom Left: Smashbox Cheek and Lip Colour in Speedracer (way more browntoned in real life)
Top Right: Smashbox Eyshadow in ASAP
Bottom Right: Smashbox Waterproof Eyshadow/Liner in Starstruck

I really want to try more Smashbox products, because these gave a fantastic first impression!

My Blush/Bronzer Collection

Just a quick post today as Tuesdays are always very busy college days for me....this isnt intended to boast, I have a rather modest collection, and I did try to make this post useful but the swatch photos came out horrific...if you want any reviews on specific products just ask and I'll be happy to oblige :)

Top: Elf All Over Colour Stick in Persimmon, Benefit Posie Tint, Loreal Blush Minerals in Soft Mauve
Middle: GOSH Natural Blush in Juicy Peach, Natural Collection Pink Cloud, MAC Ladyblush Blushcreme, MAC MSF Petticoat
Bottom: Bourjois Bronzer in 52, MeMeMe Shimmy Shimmers Pink Shimmer, ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzer, Benefit Powder Pop

Bourjois Bronzer: This is a recent purchase and its already my go to bronzer for contouring, and when I've tanned I use it all over, it also smells amazing and I love that its matte.

Benefit Powder Pop. This contain Dandelion which I dont use much, Coralista which is gorgeous and Dallas which is my favourite bronzey blush ever, Ill be buying the full size of it for sure.

MeMeMe Pink Shimmer Brick: I got this as a cheaper alternatives to the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks, its really nice for a giving a good pink blush wih a shimmery glow, and I like that you can choose whether you want the lighter or daker colours or all together.

GOSH Juicy Peach: This is the most pigmented blush EVER, so you really have to use a light hand, if you dont put too much on, Ive made this mistake too often, it can look really b eautiful especially with a tan.

MAC MSF Petticoat: This isnt really a blush so I dont know why I put it in here, but it give s a nice pinky highlight and is brilliant for light skin tones I think I'll be using this as my highlight in the colder months.

ELF Blush and Bronzer: This blush is amazing for the money, its one of my favourites. I used the bronzer to death but its shimmery so I use my Bourjois one more now and just use this on areas I wan a bit of shimmer like my legs.

MAC Blushcreme Ladyblush: So sad they changed these as this is now one of myvery favourites, I love creme blushes and this colour is so pigmented and beautiful I could chuck all my others away and just have this.

Natural Collection: Considering these products are really cheap this is a really good everyday blush, its very buildable and can give a nice flush to cheeks especially in winter on cooler skin colours.

Loreal Blush Mineral in Soft Mauve: I like the colour of this but dont use it much as mineral products can be a bit messy, it is handy for taking out for touch ups though as the brush is in it. The brush isnt bad quality either.

Elf Colour Stick in Persimmon: I hate the smell of this, it smells really strange, but it does give a nice colour and I ued to use it everyday, I think I might come back to it a lot through the summer as its a nice peachy shimmery colour, a bit mroe of a highlight than a blush.

December Favourites

I know Im a bit late with my favourites of the month post, as I wasnt going to do one since I had done a Favourites of 2010 post. But Im bored, and I thought I may aswell! However its late, and I dont have any pictures prepared, so the images will have to come from the wonders of google images.

Barry M Nail Paint in Racing Green.

I found this colour perfect for the festive season. To me, Christmas is Green, Red and Gold. I like to switch up the colours of my nails, I get bored and never paint them the same colour two times in a row. I knew I wanted red nails for Christmas, so for most of December I used this as my festive tribute. I actually went back to this polish over and over again, which is unusual, but I just love the colour of it. Its got a nice shimmer through it as well which I like as its not just a flat green colour. Gorgeous!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Sugar Plum

Im not sure if this was in my November favourites post, but hey ho! I actually borrowed this from my mam when I found it when trawling through her make-up bag and I fell in love. She said I really suited it, so she just gave me it :).  For a start, it smells and tastes lovely, kind of sweet, which kind of actually does fit with its name nicely. It looks to be a really hard to wear colour in the tube, really deep/bright pinky plum. But this isnt how it goes on. Once applied its a lovely bright, but wearable pinky shade. On me this came out slightly lighter than the "swatch" above, but this may differ from person to person. It stains your lips brilliantly so even when it wears off over time your lips are still the lovely berry stained colour. I might have to invest in more lipsticks from this range soon.

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser

When I bought this, I had'nt heard of it before. There had been no rave reviews spurring me on to get it or anything like that, which I normally have when I buy new beauty products. I walked into Boots looking for a new moisturiser, this one looked alright, I trust Neutrogena, so I jsut bought it thinking nothing of it. Now Ive finished the tube, and I can honestly say its amazing. It seems really thick when you squeeze it out and slather it on, but I like that much better than a really thin texture that feels like its done absolutely nothing for you. It really does moisturise, like you would expect, but just, nicer and better than others I've come across. My skin feels good, like its been given a good drink, really healthy and smooth, and I LOOOOOVE it. So much so that my Clinique Dramatically Different takes a back seat in favour of it. That really is saying something from me.

GOSH Natural Blush in Juicy Peach

I've had this blush for nearly a year now, and you can barely tell I've used it, and believe me, I have used it. This is because its so highly pigmented a tiny amount on your brush really does go a long way. You really do have to be careful with this, I've had a few times in the beginning where I looked like a clown, its not hard to make this mistake. This rarely happens now as I'm used to it and know to apply tiny amounts at a time. Its a gorgeous peachy corally colour on the skin and gives you a summer glow. I normally would associate this with summer, as it was my go-to blush for holidays and when I was wearing fake tan. Neither of which has happened at all in December, so Ive suprised myself by using it frequently this month. I dont know why, but it works with pale skin as well as it did with my pathetic attempt of a tan. I like how its not shimmery, like the ELF blush that I use so often, it makes a nice change for me.

Primark 4 in 1 Deep Facial Cleansing Wipes.

Firstly, sorry to the lovely blogger who posted this photo that I found on google images. It is very very lazy of me not to take my own photos, and there were no other pictures on the internet at all of this product. If you're reading this feel free to bollock me. Anyway, a pack of two lke this was £1, and they were conveniently stacked as I awas waiting in the huge queue in primark right beside me. I was low on face wipes so I jsut shoved them in my basket. I expected them to be awful, I generally assume this with Primark and they continue to shock me. For starters, they smell so beautiful, like fruity and fragrant but in a fresh way that you dont mind covering your face in. They dont sting, at all, which I often hate about face wipes, and they generally do their job well. What else can be said about face wipes, jsut the fact that it was £1 for 50, and theyre the best Ive came across, having only tried drug store brands. Pat on the back for Primark, slap across the cheeks for me for taking a bloggers picture.

Soap and Glory Flake Away Body Polish

I realise that everyone already knows about this, but I havew to say this is my favourite body scrub ever ever ever. It is beautiful in every way, and as of yet id my favourite Soap and Glory product. Not a single flake of dry skin ugliness gets past this beauty, and my skin feels slippery smooth when I get out the shower, lush!

The Body Shop Vanilla Spice Shimmer Lip Balm

For most girls, the holy grail product of these bitterly cold months is a good lip balm. I often find that my lips just will never evr not be chapped in winter, which means no lipstick for me :(. It also means I feel the need to constantly keep applying lip balm to try and beat the freeze. Therefore, I want it to look pretty too. This ticks both my boxes, its slightly shimmery so looks like a lip gloss, but it really thick and stays put on your lips for ages even through drinking hot cups of hot chocolate. Apart from that, it smells and tastes devine, but what else would you expect from The Body Shop. My little tub has lasted me about 4 years, and Ive only just hint the bottom. It doesnt even have the same pacaking design as the one pictured its that old. I know its probably well out of date and disgusting but it hasnt changed at all since I got it, and Im not one to waste anything. Yummy Yummy Yummy.

Random Favourites

Good old Holly Willoughbooby

I jsut admire everything about her, shes got class but shes still cheeky and a bit naughty, and shes jsut gorgeous and I love her style. My boyfriend thinks we were separated at birth, he thinks I'm jsut like her, I wish!

Rihanna ft. Drake What's My Name

I've became a little bit obsessed with this song. Apart from the fact I completely idolise Rihanna, its generally rather catchy and I keep singing it ALLLLL the time, its probably very annoying. It reminds me of good times partying in town with my friends around Christmas time, me and Natalie had this dance move going for it, cringeworthy.

Irn Bru

Yes, wierd I know. I forgot how much I loved this and now Im re-addicted like I was in Year 10. Delicioso!

The Snood

What a marvellous invention. Now I dont have to have the tassels of a scarf hanging out the bottom of my coat looking rather odd, or the scarf trailing all down inside my coat making me look twice the size I really am. Amen to the snood.

Right that was a stupidly long post, congrats if you made it this far.
