TAG: Paradise

I found this post on Caz's blog and thought I would do it too. It may not be a FOTD, or a review...but its a it of fun. I used to do these as "bulletins" on MySpace when I was 14, ah the good old days. Plus you get too see how cringey the contents of my iPod is!...which I warn you, its pretty bad. Little disclaimer, Ive had the content of my itunes since I was 14 and havent deleted any of it haha.

How It Works:

1. Put your MP3 player/ iPod/ iTunes on shuffle.

2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.

3. You must write the song name down, no matter how silly it sounds

So here we go...

If someone says ‘is this ok?’ you say: Aint No Other Man - Christina Aguilera

How would you describe yourself? Larger Than Like - Backstreet Boys
(LOL)

What do you like in a guy/girl? F**king In The Bushes - Oasis.
(Oooops! These responses are already hilarious)

How do you feel today? Naive - The Kooks

What is your life’s purpose? Relight My Fire - Take That

What is your motto? Hot - Inna

What do your friends think of you? When The Sun Ges Down - Arctic Monkeys

What do your parents think of you? The Writer - Ellie Goulding

What do you think about very often? The Last Goodbye - James Morrison

What do you think of the person you like? Look What I've Done - Maverick Sabre
What is your life story? Under The Sheets - Ellie Goudling
(Faaaaantastic =/ haha)

What do you want to be when you grow up? Carry Out - Timbaland ft. Justin Timberlake

What do you think when you see the person you like? See You Again - Miley Cyrus
(....Losing subscribers.)

What will you dance to at your wedding? Pass Out - Tinie Tempah
(This will probably happen, were wierd.)

What will they play at your funeral? Set You Free - N Trance
(Oh dear GOD haha)

Yankee Wax Tarts and Burner

Quite a random one today, but I know loads of you like your Yankee Candles so I thought why not tell you about my latest love.

As a student, I dont really have enough money to throw heaps of it at candles. As much as I loveee my Yankee Candles, theyre pretty much only around when Im given them as gifts. This is where my investment in the wax tarts and burner come in. The basic theory behind these is just like an oil burner only they come in what looks like a little tart, and kind of in candle wax form. You put one in the top of the burner and put any kind of cheapy tealight in the bottom to make it melt and release the scent. Once the candles gone out the wax hardens again until next time.

I love these as to me they smell just as strong as the candles and one will last you forever! I bought these around 3 months ago, and instantly put my first tart in (French Vanilla) and Im still not even half way through that one burning away! Best of all these are £1.15 each, or there about depending what offers are on. You can literally get them in every candle scent too... I bought these ones which will probably end up lasting me about 2 years!

Vanilla Cupcake, Baby Powder, Fluffy Towels, Clean Cotton, and Soft Blanket

I bought these at Yankee Direct, where you can get the burners too, in all sorts on pretty colors and effects, the one I have below is the "Gold and Pearl Tart Burner" and was only £13.45. Its so pretty too so its a lovely decoration in my bedroom.

It looks so much prettier at night time when the light flickers through the crackled glass, lovely and relaxing!

I know its a slightly strange post but I thought it may be something some of you may like to hear about?
Any scent recommendations?

MAC Babysparks Dazzleglass

Just a quick post on what is definately my current favourite lipgloss. I bought Babysparks a few months ago, and Ive been loving it ever since. I ignored the bloggers who said the dazzleglasses were way too sticky, and Im so glad I did.

Granted, it is rather on the sticky side, but this is something I really dont mind as it means the lipgloss stays put for ages. I love that about it, but the one downside is once it actually does wear away and theres no gloss left, youre left with the glittery parts stuck to your lips. I can deal with this by just making sure I reapply if it wears off.

The gloss runs down in the tube surprisingly quickly...the picture above is how much Ive used up in around 2 months. However I can deal with it as I loveee the look (and scent) of dazzleglasses that Ive never quite found in another gloss. Although it is glittery, it doesnt look childish or gross on the lips, instead it makes them look glossy, shiney and full...Im a little obsessed now.

The applicator is a brush rather than a spongey type applicator, which I kind of prefer. The colour of the gloss looks really baby pink, but I find this doesnt transfer too much to the lips in a fake barbie pink way. Instead it gives a nice subtle pinky colour which pretty much goes with any lipstick Ive worn it with. I especially love it over nudey lipsticks to make them a little more wearable.

This is how it looks on my lips on its own. I could talk about this all day, I love it so much. I cant wait to get my hands on some more Dazzleglasses, in particular Smile and Love Alert.

Do you like Dazzleglasses? If so which ones would you recommend?

John Frieda Go Blonder Lightening Spray

I havent done a review for ages, but I feel this product is worth it. I bought the John Frieda Go Blonder spray about 6 months ago. I had dull blonde mousey coloured hair that I really didnt like. Ive never dyed it before, but I was considering it, and this spray was the last resort. Thank god I found this or I would have ended up with highlights, and dying it constantly like half the girls I know.

To put it simply this spray has worked wonders on my hair. I use it every time I wash my hair, just before blow drying. I spray it evenly all over my hair and brush through to make sure its all over. Then the heat from the hairdryer activates the "lightening" process. Any heat will help, so straighteners would further intensify the lightening. It doesnt leave any horrible residue or heavy feeling in your hair, which Im happy about as my hair is so thin it i easily weighed down by product.

Heres some before and after shots...

Before Id used the spray, my hair was much more dull and I couldnt stand it.

After using the spray for around 6 months my hair is now this colour, which many of my friends strive to get theirs to be using bleach and all kinds.

I wouldnt say it took all this time to get it to lighten, its a very gradual process. I think just the more you do it the better the results. Its pretty much up to you, you could use it sparingly and less often to get just a hint of lightening r everytime you blowdry and straighten like I do.

Ive recently been getting a lot of compliments on my hair colour which Ive never had before, even from my Dad who probably wouldnt notice if I came home with an arm missing.

I couldnt be without this now, and my hair is truly grateful that its been saved from a life of bleaching and highlights!

Soap and Glory Brand Overview

Hi All, just a quick little post today to let you know I did a video recently about all of the Soap and Glory products Ive tried, both good and bad. I considered doing it in a blog post but it would have been waaay too long and just suited being a video better. Click here to go watch it.

I also filmed a haul a few days ago and that went up yesterday, in MUCH better quality than my previous videos...I worked out how to focus my camera better after months of a blurry mess. So if you want to see that click here!

I like to keep you in the loop about any videos I do, a I dont want my blog followers to miss out bt some things are just better suited to videos.

Bye for now

Instagramming and an Update on Me

Ive become hooked on Instagram since it came to Android, which I was so excited about, so I might do a few of these instagram type posts now and again...

Found my old Lauren Conrad obsessive t-shirt in the back of a drawer
Long awaited Liz Earle order
Naughty MAC order
Reem pyjamas, much to my boyfriends horror
Avon Sequined Turqouise
Trying to decide on a polish to use
Cosy cheesy hoody to stay warm inside when its rainy outside
A little FOTD

Now...as you may have noticed theres a few little haul items in there and Im on a "spending ban" type of thing. Ive decided to end that now, as it was just going on WAY too long, Ive been doing it since January. Yes, I have defiaantely had a few cheats along the way but its really helped me to save money and use up some products. Ive even discovered a love for some thing I forgot I even had. Ill definately do one again soon, after Ive bought everything Im gunna need for Ibiza, to try and save some more spending money. You can see how I did with this one HERE, I think I did very well actually, next time I definately wont put so many products in it!

I should be writing essays and revising instead of writing this post but I like to keep you updated. From now until May 18th, I have so many essay deadlines and exams it maes me want to cry. So my blog may be a little quiet for a while. Also, Ive lost my camera, so until I find that or give in and buy a new one, the only photos Ill get is when I can borrow my dads camera, so please be patient with me :)

Youll probably see more of me on youtube rather than here as I still have my (rather crappy) video camera so Ill try and put more up there. Theres going to be a huuuge haul going up later today if youd like to have a look! Click HERE to go to my youtube channel. Thanks for reading!

Operation Ibiza Bikini Body #2, Jillian Michaels and Green Tea

Ive got so many reviews I really want to post for you, but the problem is Ive gone and lost my camera. My video camera is retty awful too so I cant take any pictures at the minute, nightmare. I was thinking what could I post that didnt need photos. So although this would benefit from my own photos, Im gunna talk about what Ive been doing to try and achieve "bikini body" status.

With it being uni exam revision and essay time, I havent been ding as much as Id like to, but Ive definately been going in the right direction.

As far as exercise goes, I ordered the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD, and a little pair of womens weights to use with it.

So far Ive done three days of it and Im really enjoying it, but it is bloody hard! I thought people were exagerating but it really is tough on your body, which I like as it means its actually working. The first day I did it I could barely move my legs after, I went to stand up and my jelly legs took me to sitting on the floor haha.

I do feel though, that doing this for 30 days straight is a bit tough on your body, so Im doing it in three day chunks, then resting for a day. I think this is sensible for someone like me who never normally exercises at all, rather than just going at it non stop.

I think buying the weights really makes a difference too. I use the Pineapple ones below. Yeh, you could use a tin of beans but the weights are just easier to use I find.

Im no dietitian, so in terms of diet, Im not really doing anything drastic or strict as Im really not trying to lose any weight, just be healthier. Ive been replacing snacks of biscuits or crisps with fruit, and trying to eat more fresh veg and home cooked meals over fast food and takeaways. So far Ive been doing pretty well with it, I dont refuse myself anything, if I want to get dessert Ill have it, otherwise Id resent doing this and stop altogether.

Ive also swapped regular tea for green tea, I like the Tetleys ones, and any fizzy drinks for fruit juice or water, which I find I like both better anyway so thats a bonus.

This has been a mammoth post without me even realising! So Ill leave the skincare and oter thing for next time! Let me know if you have any tips :)

FOTD; Easter Sunday 2012

I actually forgot I had even taken these photos, which is why this psot is so late! But better late than never, I can remember exactly what I was wearing make-up wise anyway...

Most of my make up styed very similar from what I did on Good Friday (post here), but I toned down the eyes and the bronzer a little so the bright lip didnt look too much.

Face:
Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation 02 Light
Nars Laguna Bronzer
Nars Orgasm Blush
Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme Iced Gold
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Medium

Eyes:
Mac Vintage Selection Paint Pot
Urban Decay Virgin (All over lid)
Urban Decay Toasted and Hustle (Through crease)
Maybelliene Gel Liner
Bourjois The Volumizer Mascara

Lips:
No7 Lip Liner in Plum
MAC Lipstick in Girl About Town

When I use this lipstick I always use a swipe of Lipcote over the top to keep it in place for literally ever, I can put this on for a night out and fter trying to wie it off with a wipe in the early hours, I wake up the next morning and my lips are always still stained this colour!

FOTE/OOTE: Good Friday

I realise this is slightly late, but hey ho its here anyway. On Good Friday a huge bunch of us went out for the night as we do every year. Heres how I did my makeup and what I wore (Please excuse my hair!)...

 Face:
L'Oreal Studio Secrets Resurfacing Primer
Jemma Kidd Light as Air Foundation 02 Light
Collection Lasting Perfection Conceler 01 Fair
Nars Laguna Bronzer
Nars Orgasm Blusher
Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme Iced Gold
MAC Fix +

Eyes:
MAC Vintage Selection Paintpot
Urban Decay Virgin (inner half)
Urban Decay Toasted (outer half)
Urban Decay Hustle (Through crease)
MAC Beauty Marked (Outer V)
Maybelliene Gel Liner
Bourjois The Volumizer Mascara

Lips:
Carmex Lip Balm
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick Nude Delight
MAC Baby Sparks Dazzleglass

The dress I wore is from Topshop, Im not too sure if they sell it anymore but I absolutely loooove it! It is extremely short, way more than I would usually go but I feel it doesnt look too slutty because of the higher neckline, maybe? I just paired it with black wedges and a black bag, I think any other accessories would have been a bit too much for one outfit.

March Faves & Instagram!

Just a quick little catch up today, Ive been very busy recently and Im not entirely sure doing what, Ive never stopped but havent go anything done. Anyway, I was going to attempt to fit in a proper review for you today but Im bogged down with so much work, so that will be tomorrow instead, sorry!

This month I decided to do my favourites in video form....click HERE to go see that. I never want my blog readers to miss out on favourites or anything so if thats on my youtube instead Ill let you guy know. I also did the 10 Little Secrets Tag over there that Sammi from BeautyCrush made up so be sure to have a look at that too!

I dont know whether you would prefer me to do blogposts to accompany each video, such as my "Drugstore Favourites" video I made recently, I was cnsidering doing a blg post too but I dont know if that would be a bit of an overkill, so let me know!

Another thing which Im rather excited about is Instagram being available for Android users (aka, people like me). So now I have Instagram, and cant wait to start snapping pictures of my day to day life every two seconds for you all! It would make my day if you would follow me, saying as right now nobody is at all haha. My username is hayleydollymix :) Just one little question for any Instagram-ers, can you access Instagram from your computer and if not how do your get yous photos from Intagram onto your blog posts?

Im such a technophobe.

Lustlist #19

After the few days of summer weather we had in the UK last week, it had me lusting after a new summer wardrobe for my holidays, as well as for the summer here (fingers crossed its a good one this year). However Im currently sat in my room, its snowing outside and a tile jsut flew off my roof. So the tan lines I achieved last week are fading by the second. The things Im lusting after may just have to wait for the Ibiza sun!

I didnt even realise how many things Ive been loving have been corally colours, but clearly thats what Ive been drawn to recently!
All links are in the item descriptions.

I cant wait to be wearing bright summery clothes after the little taster of it last week. Just need this snow to go away now!
