Products I'm Hitting Pan On

Its not often I finish a make up product. Body care, hair care...I go through like no tomorrow. The occasional eyeliner or mascara gets used up, but its not so often I use a lot of a "pan" product. By which I mean those that are packaged inside a metal, well, pan. So its kind f a big deal to me when I "hit pan" on a product. I realise this is quite pathetic, but it excites me and I dont know why. So heres the products Im currently hitting pan on...

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 003 Peach Glow
This setting powder has served its purpose well. Its been great for setting my makeup with, but does create quite a matte finish as the name suggests. I prefer a more dewy look, but my skin can tend to look a little oily so only a small amount of this dusted over my face does the trick. Its very cheap too which is always a bonus.

GOSH Creamy Compact Make-up in Beige 2
This is basically a cream foundation. I had a penchant for cream foundations when I was about 17...and Ive had this since then, which explains how gross and battered it looks! Its probably well past its expiry date but thats not something Im too fussed with. I actually love this, it creates an amazingly flawless base. Sadly I think its been discontinued as I cant find it anywhere, so I have been using this little bit sparingly. I think Ill always have a cream foundation in my collection though, theyre my favourites for nights out.

Natural Collection Eyeshadow in Willow
This is the first eyeshadow Ive ever hit pan on, and its the cheapest one I own too! The only blush Ive ever finished was also Natural Collection, which speaks volumes that cheap doesnt always mean its rubbish. Anyway, I absolutely love this eyeshadow the perfect lightish taupey shade. Its also really nice quality, and only about £2...Bargain!

What products are you hitting pan on? I think it shows which products are really truly loved!

FOTE/OOTE: Good Friday

I realise this is slightly late, but hey ho its here anyway. On Good Friday a huge bunch of us went out for the night as we do every year. Heres how I did my makeup and what I wore (Please excuse my hair!)...

 Face:
L'Oreal Studio Secrets Resurfacing Primer
Jemma Kidd Light as Air Foundation 02 Light
Collection Lasting Perfection Conceler 01 Fair
Nars Laguna Bronzer
Nars Orgasm Blusher
Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme Iced Gold
MAC Fix +

Eyes:
MAC Vintage Selection Paintpot
Urban Decay Virgin (inner half)
Urban Decay Toasted (outer half)
Urban Decay Hustle (Through crease)
MAC Beauty Marked (Outer V)
Maybelliene Gel Liner
Bourjois The Volumizer Mascara

Lips:
Carmex Lip Balm
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick Nude Delight
MAC Baby Sparks Dazzleglass

The dress I wore is from Topshop, Im not too sure if they sell it anymore but I absolutely loooove it! It is extremely short, way more than I would usually go but I feel it doesnt look too slutty because of the higher neckline, maybe? I just paired it with black wedges and a black bag, I think any other accessories would have been a bit too much for one outfit.

FOTE...Unplanned Night Out

So on saturday at about 5:30pm me and my friends decided we were bored so we were going to go out in town, and had the best night in a long long time! Heres how I did my make up (I even wore lashes for the first time in about a year!)...

Face:
Loreal Studio Secrets Resurfacing Primer
Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation in 02 Light
 Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer
MAC Dollymix Blusher
MAC MSF Natural in Medium
Rimmel Brow Pencil in Hazel
ELF Eyebrow Treat and Tame in Ash

Eyes:
MAC Vintage Selection Paintpot
MAC Blanc Type e/s inner corner
Urban Decay Toasted e/s outer half
MAC Beauty Marked e/s through crease
Urban Decay Creep e/s a touch to define crease
Maybelliene Gel Eyeliner
Avon Supershock Liner in waterline
One coat of Step 1 of Bourjois Volumizer mascara to top and bottom lashes
Eylure Girls Aloud Kimberly Lashes with Duo glue

Lips:
MAC Girl About Town Lipstick

Im not too sure where I stand on false lashes. I like the ones that look natural, I never want to actually clearly look like Im wearing falsies, but for the hassle of putting these on they lok pratically identical to my own lashes when I put a decent mascara on. Not too sure if its worth it saying as it doesnt look so much different to me! What do you think?

My Favourite Products of 2011

I realise that this is later than I would have prefered, and I also would have prefered to do this a a video...But Ive currently got tonsilitus and its just not a pretty sight (or sound for that matter). So here it is in blog post form....Theres quite a lot of products in here but Ive truely been loving each and every one of them to death this year! So lets get started...

Brushes...
ELF Angled Eyeliner Brush - This is perfect for applying gel liner, and so affordable too. The angled part kind of helps to get into the eye better, if that makes sense?!
Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki - The only brush Ive used for foundation since I got it, amazing!! But a bit of a bitch to clean.
ELF Powder Brush - Pretty similar to the Sigma one, good for foundation but brilliant for cream blush, or setting powder
MAC 217 Blending Brush - My best investment this year, really soft, applies eyeshadow like a dream! Absolutely fab for blending as well as applying shadows. I want more of these.

 Face Products...
Firstly I'd like to mention MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural as my favourite powder of the year, I ran out and have another en route in the post so dont have it to photograph otherwise it would be here.
MAC Dollymix Blush - Its bright pink, and its beautiful with a light hand, great for both winter and summer.
MAC Blushcreme Ladyblush - The perfect everyday colour, looks incredibly natural on the skin, my fave.
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer - Creamy, long lasting, fab coverage, inexpensive...best concealer ever.
Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation - Really blendable, a little goes a long way, feels so lightweight on the skin but gives an amazing coverage and is incredibly long lasting, my ultimate foundation. I even have a back-up....and I never do that with foundations!

Eye Products...
MAC All That Glitters Eyeshadow - I use this over my lid most days, everyone should own this! It will go with any skin tone too, great for a  wash of colour and a flick of liner.
MAC Satin Taupe Eyeshadow - An absolute staple in my collection, the perfect crease colour.
Urban Decay Naked Palette - Need I explain this one? Love it to death, cant wait to try Naked 2!
Avon Supershock Mascara - Loved this for years its amazingly volumising, couldnt be without this in my collection.
ELF Eyeshadow Primer - Its £3 and keeps my eyeshadow in place all day, bloody amazing.
ELF Eyebrow Treat and Tame - I only use the tame side, as a blonde brow gel, its cheap and works well too.
MAC Vintage Selection Paint Pot - Its an unreal primer, and also so pretty alone, Ive worn this to death this year.
Avon Supershock Eyeliner - It sso creamy but doesnt transfer, blackest black ever, this is my third this year! Literally cant see myself trying a different black eye kohl ever.
Maybelleine Gel Liner - Drug store price for a high end quality product. Stays in place all day and goes on a dream, much easier to use than liquid I think.

Lip Products...
Avon Pro-to-go Lipstick in Provocative Plum - Its the perfect "wash" of plummy colour, and is a nice colourul daytime option without being too full on. Lovely.
Carmex Cherry Lipbalm - Simply put, its the most effective lip balm Ive ever came across.
MAC Big Baby Plushglass - You can see how much Ive used this, its a perfect peachy nude and lovely formula, favourite ever lipgloss.
Nars Turkish Delight Lipgloss - Only bought because of Kim Kardashian (ridic.) But its actually bloody gorgeous, and looks great over nude lippie.
No7 Lip Pencil in Plum - These are so cheap with a £5 off No7 voucher and are lovely liners, really soft, I have a few and love them all just decided to picture this one
MAC Girl About Town Lipstick - My favourite night out lipstick, lovely and bright but doesnt look too crazy, I always get compliments when I wear this.
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Nude Delight - The perfect nude for my skin tone, no concealer lips here! Alsot he formula is super silky and gorgeous.

Skincare...
Firstly, if I could I would include my new Liz Earle products and my Clarisonic in here as they blow all other skincare Ive used out the water, but since I only owned them for 6 days of 2011, I cant really...so these lot are things I have liked, but not as much as my new stuff!
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream with SPF50 - This is my go to sunscreen, which I should use everyday but often forget. Its not greasy or suncream-ish at all, and is really a lovely moisturiser in itself. Applying this once in the morning on holiday protected my face from burning all day. Winner.
S&G Off Your Face Wipes - If you could ever find a face wipe that was really good, this is it. Expensive, but so much nicer than the cheap ones in every way.
Clearasil Seal and Clear Spot Treatment - Slightly gross, but I find this works nicely at reducing any breakouts, especially if I get them as soon as they arrive!
Dermalogica Face Mask & Exfoliant - Boy have I made these babies last me! Teeny samples but Ill never afford the full size. Each use has seen my skin magically so much cleaner and clearer and beautiful. Loveeeee.

Nails...
Barry M Nail Paint in Pink Flamingo - I never had this off my nails all summer, so pretty in the sun with a tan!
Revlon Facets of Fuschia - Love at first sight with this one, so so pretty camera doesnt do it justice.
Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Top Coat - Pretty awesome topcoat, makes my polish last ages longer! This bottle has gone gloopy now though and its nearly empty, time for a new one!
Barry M Red Glitter Nail Paint - Nothing is more Christmassy than this polish, but I want to wear it nowwww. So pretty it distracts me from things haha.

Hair...
Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo/Conditioner - I literally cant use anything other than these two when washing my hair or it goes flat as a pancake, used them all year and my hair is still responding nicely. I wont be straying at all in the near future.
Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo - Its cheap and works fine in my blonde hair for freshening it up, I only like the Tropical scent though.
Elnett Hairspray - Its just the best, by far. I love how it brushes out and doesnt leave much build up on your hair at all but still holds a style amazingly. I once had full on curls for 3 days because of this.
The Tangleteezer - The most effective yet gentle brush ever. So kind to my hair, I havent touched another brush since I got this.
John Freider Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray - This has brought a new lease of life to my nautrally dull blonde hair and its such a prettier colour now and I havet had to dye it properly. Savior!

Body, Bath, Etc...
S&G Hand Food - Best hand cream ever, gone through tonnes of this stuff now, Im slightly addicted to it.
S&G The Righteous Butter - I have got the world and his wife using this now, even my good old Nana loves it. Such a silky body butter that works wonders and smells unreal.
Paco Robanne Lady Million - This is my signature scent now. You must all smell it, Im in love with it and barely wear anything else now.
S&G The Breakfast Scrub - Another thing where I wont be straying to sample different brands, this is my favourite scrub by miles. Smells so good I could eat it and does a fabjob at slogging off my dead skin, lovely thought I know!
Lush Pop in the Bath Bubble Bar - Ive been through dozens of these this year, they have a gorgeous fresh smell that Im always in the mood for, lovely bubble bar :)
Rituals Foaming Shower Gel - Only had this a month but really love it. It leaves you feeling super clean and fresh and the foam feels rather luxurious, definately will repurchase it!

Dear me this has taken me SO long to sit and write I think I need a good cup of tea haha. Thanks for reading if you got this far!

xoxo

Lip of the Day: Deep Red

Have I gone completely mental/ am I turning into a goth...or does this actually look quite nice?
Its Rimmel's Lasting Finish Lipstick in 124 Bourdeaux by the way.
It used to be my Mam's lipstick but she gave it to me with the words "Ibought this in a moment of madness and you like crazy lipsticks so you might wear it". Which leads me to believe I might possibly look like a nutter 99% of the time.

Honest opinions please girlies? :)

September Favourites

Another month has flew past and Im sat here trying to figure out where it went! I feel as though I havent posted nearly enough through September but Im itching toget reviewing some products that Ive been trying and want to get back into it. Heres my favourites from September...

I did a FOTD post a few days ago based around this lipstick I love it that much. Basically I was looking for a nice nude that wouldnt mke me look dead, or cheap and nasty. I saw a video a while back where Tanya Burr of Pixi2Woo said this was one of her favourite nudes, and it looked amazing on her. I had been lusting after it ever since and had considered buying it numerous times, then I just bit the bullet and picked it up with some of my birthday money. Im so glad I did, its so soft and smooth on the lips and doesnt dry them out at all. It leaves a pretty glossy finish and is very pigmented. Although I do love to indulge in the odd high end lipstick, a lot of the time I think the drugstore brands do a good job too, especially Rimmel.

I caved and eventually picked this concealer up after everyone was raving about it on here and youtube. I have to say it really has lived up to the hype for me. Granted, the packaging is already a mess but I knew this when I bought it. The product itself is creamy, provides a good coverage and does a good job on my under-eyes and any blemishes. Most concealers Ive used have just attracted more atention to my problem areas by caking all over spots and looking a mess where as this doesnt. It also doesnt settle into any fine lines I have under my eyes which is great as that is something I have hated with other concealers, including a few MAC varieties. Im quite lucky and find I dont need to use concealer every day, but Im really glad I have this to hand on those days when I do. Id really recommend it!

Ive been stocking up on these lip liners using my £5 off vouchers that Boots give out. Ive got this one (plum) and also the nude one and absolutely love them both. I hadnt really eve used lipliner before these and Im really glad Ive gotten into it. My lips look much more put together when I use this, and my lipstick stays put much longer. Theyre so soft and creamy to apply making it really easy without tugging on your lips. They also come with a teeny sharpener in the bottom of each liner which I find really handy. I want to collect the rest of the colours with my remaining No7 vouchers as they only cost £2.50 when using the vouchers, bargain!

There was a lot of hype surrounding this perfume when it first launched, maybe a few years ago now. But somehow I just never got round to smelling it until this August and instantly fell in love. After some very unsubtle hints Motherbear got it for my birthday! Thanks Mam! Ive literally worn nothing else ever since, morning noon and night I wear this constantly. It smells kind of florally and fruity but in a very glamorous way. Its just one of those perfumes that instantly makes you feel like your more put together and dressed up no matter what it is you actually look like. I spray this on when Im sitting in the house looking like crap and can feel so much better about myself. Its just gorgeous, and my new signature scent!

This will be feautured in a haul post soon, so this is kind of back to front. I bought this on a MAC splurge with my birthday money. Mythical is a limited edition shade from the MAC Me Over collection thats out at the minute. From the website and swatches I never really thought much of it, until I saw in in real life at my local MAC counter and needed it. Its a gorgeous warm reddy browny colour that I really cant justify unless youve seen it yourself and know how pretty it is. It has a lovely shimmer to it and it is the Veluxe Pearl finish, which I have found most of my favourite MAC eyeshadows are, so maybe theres a trend there. Go and see it for yourself and youll see what I mean.

Food Favourite:
Ham and Cheese Toasted Baguettes from Greggs - I live off these when Im at Uni

Music Favourite:
Still loving Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5. It will always from now on remind me of my 20th birthday party. Extremely drunk dancing with some of my oldest friends that I hadnt seen for ages. Fantastic.

Random Favourite:
Student Loan! Hello massive hauls of things I shouldnt be buying.

FOTD...Nude Delight

Long time no see! Freshers week has literally taken over my life, busy busy busy! Ive found a quick moment to share with you the new nude love of my life....Rimmels Nude Delight. Ive never had a nude lipstick before this as I was nervous of the concealer lips look, but this is just beautiful. My boyfriend even asks me to wear it because he loves it, and that just shows its good if he even notices!

Isnt it lovely! Heres how Ive been wearing it...a pretty basic but fresh face which Ive found really easy for the mornings after the night before (of which there have been many of recently) when Ive worn loads of make-up on he night time and want a cleaner look through the day.

Eyes:
UD Sin eyeshadow
Avon Supershock eyeliner
Avon Supershock mascara

Face:
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (51)
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer (fair)
Smashbox Creme Blush in Speedracer
MAC MSF Natural (Medium)

Lips:
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Nude Delight

What do you think? I really like it! A lovely nude but not too pale, and its so silky soft too its gorgeous, highly recommended!

Haul: From My Dear Friend Who's Moving to MILAN.

Yes, a lovely family friend of mine is moving to Milan. In fact, she will be on the plane there as I type this. Im so so soooo jealous, but hopefully next sumer I will be taking a trip over there...free accomodation and tour guide, yes please! Anyhow she has literally got rid of everything she owns as she didnt want to take everything with her, so heres a few of the freebies I got, all completely unused...until i got my paws on them :)

Excuse my Mr Men cup of (dirty!) brushes in the background haha. Im really looking forward to reading the Audrey Hepburn book which is written by her son. I love her, and know Ill find it really interesting. Ive alreayd looked through at al the beautiful photos and cant wait to read it!

Also I got these little tea lights of oneof my favourite Yankee Candle scents for summer, clean cotton. So no doubt they wil all be burnt out pretty soon, now the make-up...

Jan reassured me that these were all unused and she had aquired them all pretty recently, so I wasnt going to shove ancient products on my skin so I gladly took them off her hands.

Ive never used any Gatineau products, but family members have told me its really good, and these are two 50ml tubes of the cleansing cream, but need to be used wet. It says its anti- aging which I dont suppose I need but Ill give them a go, they smell lovely and fresh too!

When I stayed at The Langdale with David last year, all the products in our room sand in the spa were Elemis products. I loved each and every product I used, they were in a different class from products I normally use, so luxurious and beautiful. So I was really excited to try this Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel. Again, its anti-aging, but it also exfoliates and is good for dul and tired skin, which mine has a tendency to look like this. Its packed with exotic fruit extracts and general good stuff for your skin such as Vit E, so Im looking forward to using it!

Then theres the little pot of The Body Shop's Vitamin E Night Cream. I already use the toner and the body lotion and its generally one of my favourite lines to use, and I have been needing a night cream too as Ive recently just been usng the same moisturiser day and night. I used this last night, it has the lovely smell that the whole range does, is thick but not too thick, and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and velvety after application. This little tub will last ages, but I think I may have to buy it myself when this is done.

I was really excited to try the Smashbox products Jan gave me, as Ive never used their products before. The waterproof eyeshadow/liner is Starstuck I find to be a gorgeous dark taupey brown colour (swatches below). However Ive lost my thin liner brush, so Ive been using it more as a base/cream eyeshadow and it worked really well to create a dark smokey eye, its really gorgeous and long lasting!

The Smashbox Double Exposure Cheek and Lip colour in Speedracer is a fantastic creme blush. Its creamier than my Mac one, and goes on a dream, no patchiness at all. It a lovely natural colour, as if you have a hint of a tan across your cheeks and would go with any look. It looks more orangey in the swatch than it really is, its more brown toned, but really flattering, love it!

The Smashbox Eyeshadow in ASAP is right up my street. To me its like a cross between Mac's Woodwinked and Satin Taupe, which are both favourites of mine. Its really good quality too, comparable to my MAC or Urban Decay shadows. It gives a lovely finish and its just a fantastic addition to my collection.

The GOSH Effect Powder  in Apple Jam is just like a Barry M Dazzle Dust. I dont know how often Ill wear a lime green sparkley eye look, but you never know! It swatches really nice and Im such a magpie I can never resist sparkle. It looks kind of golden in some lights, like the swatch below...so its kind of more wearable than a pure lime green. I like it a lot.

The Rimmel Lasting Finish lipsticks and my all time favourite lipstick range. Thyere great quialty, smell amazing, really pigmented and dont dry out my lips. Oh, and theyre drugstore prices, yey! This colour (shown below) is 124 Bordeaux. Its way darker than I would ever pick up in the shop myself, but its actually gorgeous! Its a lovely deep red wine colour which will be so lovely for winter time. I dont have a deep red like this in my collection so Im glad to have this now, and in my favourite lipstick formula too!

The Rimmel lipstick above...so pretty!

Top Left: Gosh Apple Jam Effect Powder
Bottom Left: Smashbox Cheek and Lip Colour in Speedracer (way more browntoned in real life)
Top Right: Smashbox Eyshadow in ASAP
Bottom Right: Smashbox Waterproof Eyshadow/Liner in Starstruck

I really want to try more Smashbox products, because these gave a fantastic first impression!

FOTD,,,Strawberry Ice Cream

Firstly, totally off topic I wanna let you all know icase you hadnt already heard that ELF are currently running a 50% off code which I think is pretty cool, as if their products arent cheap enough already this is a huge bargain. Im trying to restrain myself saying as Ive broke the P10P twice already, I have some explaining to do! But I dont know if I can pass it up...we shall see!

Being the strange human I am, I matched my lipstick almost perfectly with the colours of the ice-cream on my top the other day....

Lips:
Avon Instant Mocha Lipstick..sorry it doesnt say which range it is on the tube (yes, I know the pay off of this is nowhere near mocha)

Face:
Bourjois Helathy Mix Foundation in Vanilla 52
Rimmel Recover Anti-Fatigue Concealer (the shade rubbed off the packaging, sorry!)
ELF All Over Colour sitck in Persimmon (blush)
MAC MSF in Petticoat (blush/highlight)
Benefit Dallas (contour)
MAC MSF Natural in Medium

Eyes:
Mac Vintage Selection Paint Pot
MAC Blanc Type (all over)
