July Favourites

In recent months Ive been talking abut my monthly favourites over on my youtube channel rather than here on my blog. Basically, I was just a little too lazy to do both. From now on Ive decided to still talk in depth on my video, and just post a quick overview and picture here so you can see the products more in depth.

You can view the video and here me jabbering on HERE!

Kiko Guava Pink Lipgloss - Ive already done a mini review and close ups/swatches of this lipgloss in this post about Kiko as a brand overall. Ive used it everyday since I got it, the perfect sheer pink, non-sticky gloss!

Origins Out Of Trouble 10 Minute Mask - This product along with several others from this post are going to get their own full review posts in the near future (I've got the blogging bug again), so I wont go too much into it. Basically, this has worked wonders on my spotty chin, a lovely image for you all I'm sure!

Clinique High Impact Mascara - I wasn't expecting much fro this little sample, and have been nicely surprised to find myself really enjoying using it. Its really buildable, for subtle lashes or full on spidery ones depending on your preference. I'm pretty sure Ill purchase the full size at some point.

Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel - My beauty discovery of the year so far, a full on rave review is to come. It is safe to say that I fully bought in to the bloggers hype surrounding this but I'm so glad I did. Its totally worth all the praise it gets, and I couldn't imagine my makeup collection without it now.

Benefit High Beam - This is the ultimate love/hate product for me. I love the amazing glow it gives, but hate how it smushes my foundation around when I apply it (good technical word there). However, since I've recently only been wearing Origins Vitazing through the day, I have no such foundation-smushing issues. This means Ive been freely using this without any worries and have had so many compliments on my complexion recently all down to this little beauty. Safely on the love side of the love/hate relationship for now at least.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette - Again, another product with its own post on the way. I'm sure you've seen it many times already, but I want to give my own thoughts on it anyway. Since its here in my favourites, its safe to assume Im loving using it. Its maybe not the most necessary purchase Ive made this year but definitely not one I regret in the slightest, especially with £5 off in duty free!

Thanks for reading! If you would like t hear my thoughts in more detail, 12 and a half minutes of more detail to be exact, then dont forget to just click the link at the top!

Project 10 Pan Progress...#3

I thought it was about time I checked in with another P10P update. So, now I can officially say Ive finished P10P as in this post Ive finished up 6 products, so that takes me to having finished 12 things in total! Im ging to continue it on to be a Project 20 Pan, so so far Ive done 12/20. Heres what I think of the products Ive used up recently....

Soap and Glory Clean on Me Shower Gel is by far my favourite shower gel ever. It smells gorgeous, and gives a lovely lather. It has built in body lotion so I get out the shower feeling clean but not dried out and not greasy either which is really nice. Once I stop using this and use a different one I notice my skin is much more dry, which proves how good this is. This is my second huge bottle and I know Ill buy it again once Im done using up everything else. Love love love this!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion was an impu;se buy for me on the plane to Majorca. I saw it in the on-flight catalogue and thought I would give it a go. I do really like it, but more as a night time as it leaves a greasy look to my face. A little really goes a long way with this stuff so its good value for money. I wouldnt say I was wowed buy its moisturising properties, but its good nontheless, Im not sure I would go back to it though. Maybe trying the gel formula may be less greasy.

I got this star gift set from Lush at Christmas containing six bath ballistics. Ive been savouring them and only using them occasionally to make them last. But I used the remaining ones up within a week and now have an empty box that smells like Lush goodies which Ive sadly totally ran out of now. My favourite Christmas one from here was definately the Satsumo Santa, and there was a Mrs Whippy one too which I really loved which is permanent so Ill be going back to that one when I go to Lush :)

Wella Silvikrin Hairspray is yukky. I only bought it because it was cheap, but you can realyl tell its cheap too. It stinks of proper hairspray smell to the point where I have been choking on it before. It makes our hair look crispy and sticky, and its jsut not what Im used to after using my beloved Elnett. Definately wont be buying this again!

Theres a sad story behind my Snow Fairy Shower Gel having ran out. Ive been using it sparingly as a treat because I love it and don want it to run out. Well I heard banging and claterring coming from the bathroom and found Davids little brother making "Wizards potions" in the sink and he had poured in every last drop of my Snow Fairy. I was furious to say the least, but left the shouting to be done by his mam, I cant shout at other peoples children! But alas, I no longer have Snow Fairy in my life until Christmas *Sob*.

Sorry for the stock photo, but David's Mam threw away the empty bottle of this before I got a chance to take the picture. This Imperial Leather Japanese Spa shower gel is really nice. Its cheap for a start, and smells pretty amazing. Apart from my strange love affair with Clean on Me and Snow Fairy, Im quite happy with a good shower gel that smells nice, lathers nice and leaves you feeling clean. This ticks all the boxes so I happily used it all up.

So...12/20 Not bad going so far!

Five Good Things For Friday

I feel like its been ages since I did one of these posts!

1. Its Davids birthday on Monday and as part of his birthday celebrations a huge bunch of us are going to town tonight, rather excited :)
Dirty Pop

2. The sun is hereeeee! I was sunbathing literally all day yesteray and to say Ive caught the sun is an understatement, absolute tomato! But thats fine by me as long as it goes brown haha, means no St Moriz for me today :D

3. Ive been going through a phase of trying the samples I seem to have accumulated. I now LOVE Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua, and have finally found my favourite tinted moisturiser in the form of Cliniques Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser, its more like a founation than a tinted moisturiser, but I really like it.
NEW Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15

4. Had a million compliments this week on my new sunglasses, and to think they were only £3 in New Look :)

5. Theres a small possibility that I may wind up sharing a house with David and three of our best friends this year for Uni, which I'm reallllly excited about, its only a thought at the minute but it could be really good if it happens!

My Nightly Facial Routine

I dont know about any of you guys but this whoel blogger breaking thing has left me so confused, posts that were put up last week are now being re-put up as part of them fixing it so my blog rolls all mixed up, AND I spent hours on Thursday making about 7 new pages to put at the top of my blog for you guys and now theyre gone :( Just hope they retunr by magic as I put loads of effort into them.

...Anyway! I decided it might be a nice idea to show you how I take care of ym skin at night before I go off to the land of dreams. Its not by any mean a perfect routine, and I know I will find better products int eh future, but Im on a tight budget and these leave my skin feeling clean ad fresh and make-up free, which is really my aim when Im too tired to move to go to the sink!

Cleansing Wipes
These are a bad example as they arent really my favourites, they were just cheap! I love he Off Your Face ones from S&G and suprisingly the Primark ones are really good too. I just use face wipes to get the bulk of my make-up off at first before continuing with the rest of my routine. I cant let myself jsut stop at this step because I jsut dont feel like Im fully rid of my make-up.

Cleanser with Cotton Wool Pad
I just use a milky cleaser like this as it means lazy me doesnt haveto go to th bathroom, fill the sink and clip my hair back, but when I finaly invest in the Liz Earle Cleanser then I will be so much more motivated to be less lazy! At the minute I use this Garnier SImple Essentials one, its really basic but it smells fresh and leaves your skin feeling lovely and clean but soft at the same time, I really liek it considering it was less than £3.00.

Toner & Cotton Wool Pad
I think toner is an essential step in facial care that too many miss out. It takes all of the excess cleanser off, as well as any final unmissed make-up and dirt. I know it does all sorts of technical stuff but I really like this for just rounding up the cleaning stage of my routine as it feels nice and cooling and smells nice. I find this Body Shop Vitamin E one doesnt dry your skin out or make it feel tight like others can and its just lovely.

Eye Cream
I use this is the morning as well as at night now, its the Avon Botanicals one, and is the first eye cream Ive owned. I ant to look after the delicate skin around my eye area as much as possible to try and avoid crows feet and wrinkles as long as possible (yes I know Im 19, but you can never start too early, right?). Also this is just a really nice moisturiser for my eye area too, and smells so fresh and is really cooling. I jsut feel like Im doing my skin some good with this. However it might be a really rubbish eye cream compared to others as Ive never tried any apart from this, even though I do really like it. If you have any recommendations for me to try please leave them below :)

Moisturiser
Depending on how dry my skin feels and what kind of mood Im in I will switch up my night time moisturiser. Personally I dont think theClinique Dramatically Different Lotion is as amazingly moisturising as is said about it, I find it to be the lgihtest moisturiser I own. I tend to choose this one when I want a lighter lotion especially in the summer time. The good old Nivea Cream is my go to option when my skin feels really tight and dry and this gives is such a big serving of pure moisture. I love how thick it is and you only need a tiny bit so it lasts forever, and I particularly like this in the winter time. I cant go without moisturiser, and these are jsut my choices at night time not for through the day and the Clinique is too light, and the Nivea takes a while to dry and leaves a creamy sheen which is only acceptable for bed time!

Brows
I had never considered doing anything to my eyebrows before bed until I bought this ELF Eyebrow Treat and Tame. Now I use the "treat" side every night before I go to bed, I think its meant to promote growth or something, and psychologically it makes me feel like Im doing them some good somehow. Ive only had it about a week so I cant commetn on if its actually done anything or not yet, but I do like it. It sinks in quite nicely and doesnt sit like a horrible gel on your lashes like I thought it might, so Im happy to contine using it. I also LOVE the tame side for through the day, really fantastic.

Lip Balm
I cant go to sleep without applying a good thick lip balm first. This basic Nivea one is my lip balm of choice at the minute. I love to slather them on thick for through the night which probably looks horrible and isnt something you would want to walk around in the day time sporting on your lips. So this is a must for night time to get my lips silky smooth for lipstick through the day. I do have quite a selection, and use Carmex through the day, but again any recommendation would be fantastic :D

November Favourites

Heres a few products Ive been really loving this month, along with a few random things too...

Cosmetics:

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion; I bought a small bottle of this at duty free in Spain just to try it out and Ive been using it morning and evening ever since. A little really does go a lnog way so dont let the teeny bottle deceive you, it'll last! Ive had this bottle a month with everday use and as you can see theres still loads left.

Barry M Nail Paint in Raspberry; Currently finding it difficult to reach for any other nail polish. Im in love.

Collection 2000 Glam Crystals Gel Eyeliner in Funk; Obviously not your every-day eyeliner of choice but its good if you really want your eyes to sparkle on a special evening. I do enjoy a bit of glitter on a night out and this stuff just wont budge from where you want it to be.

Combination of Revlon Double Twist Mascara with L'oreal Paris Telescopic Expolsion Mascara; My current mascara combo of choice. Im normally a "False Lash Effect" kinda girl, but since that dried up Ive gone back to a few Ive had in my collection going unloved. These two are working nicely for me at the minute. As Ive had them for so long theyve both lost most of the design and text on the packaging so they're both just red tubes. Im a little ashamed of them they look so tatty, I couldnt bring myself to take a photo.

The Body Shop Viamin E Body Lotion; Lovely and rich but not too much so, sinks in wonderfully and doesn't leave a greasy sheen. It smells so good too like a baby product. Lets just pretend theres no Spiderman mug sitting in the back of my photo...

Brown eyeshadows:
Natural Collection Willow; inner corner
MAC Woodwinked; entire lid
Natural Collection Asteroid; crease

In order: Willow; Wookdwinked; Asteroid

This has been my eyeshadow routine of choice recently, really simple and pretty much foolproof. Easy to do on a morning without worrying about it, it kinda will always look good.
Same order as above

Drink: Green Tea. I know its pretty boring but I like the flavour, and I like feeling like its doing me some good with its naturally high antioxidant content. Im not fussy on brands, just whatevers there in the shop when I need it.

Food: Foxes Whipped Creams with a hint of lemon.

Foxes biscuits in general are always pretty fantastic, but these are like the God of all biscuits. Im not a biscuit expert or anything, so Im not going into intricate descriptions of its creamyness and crumble factor, but trust me, these are some good quality biscuits. They come either with a splodge of "lustful lemon" or "sinful strawberry" jam in the middle, but just the right amount. Ive only had the lemon kind and I'm addicted. I urge you to go find a packet of these!

Let me know if you'd like to see any other "random" posts in my favourites posts...or even if you would rather they werent there at all.

F.O.T.D... Shopping in the Snow

Since Ive been out all day shopping in the snowy weather traipsing around the shops trying to find Christmas and birthday presents for numerous family members, today probably wasnt the best day for a "Face of the Day" post. But never someone to do things the normal way, I thought I'd give it a bash. Apologies for the bad quality photos I had to use my phone.

My make-up today was quite rushed and natural looking, and in these photos my face and hair had taken quite a beating from the wind, cold, and snow and this is the results after a 3 hour shopping trip...

Products:

Skin: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser, L'oreal Studio Secrets Smoothing & Resurfacing Primer, Revlon Beyond Natural Foundation in "Light", E.LF blush and bronzing duo for blush and a hint of bronzer.

Eyes: Boots No7 Amazing Eyes Pencil in "Blue Grey", Revlon Double Twist mascara in "Black, L'oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion mascara in "black", and The Body Collection eyeshadow palette using the colour "Gunmetal".

Lips: E.L.F Theraputic Conditioning Lipbalm in "Strawberry Creme", and Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in "086 Sugar Plum"

So thats all I used this morning at around 9:00AM, and these photos were taken at 6:00PM... I think my make-up lasted quite well consdiering. If you want any extra information about the products or the application of them jsut leave a little comment below :)
