July Favourites

So its already August...were closer to Christmas 2011 than Christmas 2010, WIERD. As usual heres my favourite products for the month....

St Moriz Dark
The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream
Mac Springsheen Blush
Barry M Bronze Dazzle Dust
Barry M Pink Flamingo Nail Polish
Avon Pink Watermelon Glazewear Shine Lipgloss

Barry M Dazzle Dust in Bronze(swatch at end of post)Ive been forcing myself to get more use out of my dazzle dusts as Ive always been lazy and put off using them because they can get a bit messy. However I think if youre careful and take your time they dont get everywhere as much as you would think, and the look it gives can really be worth it. Im not really into the crazy bright colours but this bronze colour gives a lovely extra something to my eye make-up and Ive been using it for nights out. Ive just been using my regular neutrals and browns and then putting this lightly over my whole eye look and it really gives it dimension and brightens it up. Im such a magpie for sparkle so Ive really been loving this recently.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Night CreamIve only had this for a few weeks but tis quickly became a favourite for me. Night creams Ive had in the pasthave felt thick and heavy and havent sunk in nicely. This is the opposite. It sinks in lovely but is still packed with moisture and I wake up in the morning with really soft skin. It smells realyl clean and fresh too, a must have for me now!

Barry M Nail Paint in Pink FlamingoEveryone knows by now how good Barry M nail polishes are so I neednt bang on about that, but Ive been wearing this colour literally all month on my fingers. I just love it. Sorry for how chipped my nails are in the photo!

ST Moriz Tanning Mousse in DarkFirstly, I dont get whats going on with the picture, because it came out fine until I put it on here? =/
This has now replaced my love of the original St Moriz. At first I was nervous to use it but I just went for it and loved it. I only have to do one coat of this rather than the 3 of the original to get my desired colour, which means it dries more evenly and quickly, looks way more natural with less chance of streaking and smudging, doesnt smell as strong and fades more evenly as it isnt such a thick coating. Over all a complete winner for me, Ill never go back to the original after using this

Avon Glazewear Shine lipgloss in Pink Watermelon(swatch at end of post)
These lipglosses are one of my favourites ever, they smell and taste lovely, last a while and arent gloopy. This colour in particular has bene one of my favourites over the summer, lovely an fresh and bright, gorgeous!

Mac Springsheen Blush(swatch at end of post)
This was possibly feautred in last months favourites post but it deserves its place this month too! Its a perfect peachy coral for summer, has a sheen to it similar to an MSF but not too glittery and Ive used it probably about 5 days of the week for the last month. I dont think this will change through August either, its just beautiful. I think blush may be one of my biggest weaknesses!

Top to Bottom:
Barry M Dazzle Dust in Bronze
Avon Glazewear Shine in Pink Watermelon
Mac Blush in Springsheen (heavier than I would normaly wear it)

Project 10 Pan Progress...#2

So I already did a post a few weeks ago having completely used up 2 products...and here Ive used up/thrown away 4 more. Firstly once again, sorry for my stupid camera.

Soap and Glory Breakfast Scrub - I got this at Christmas, used it ALOT and have only just finished it. Its my favourite scrub Ive ever tried, smells amazing and unlike any other product Ive came across. I will be repurchasing this after Ive used up all 10 products, until then Ill have to stick with Flake Away!

St Moriz Tanning Mousse - I have just finished this bottle. I love this tan and its basically the only one I buy, as I can get it in my town for £1.95 a bottle, and it lasts ages, and its just a fantastic product. Ive moved on to using the dark one and love that even more.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream - I dont know why Ive had ths little tub for so long, but I totally forgot about finishing this little tub up once I had bought the big bottle of it. Anyways I eventually used it all up, and I still have the huge bottle of body lotion too so I have no need to worry aboutbeing without my favourite body lotion :)

Avon Eyeshadow in Lagoon - Ive had this for years just siting in my collection. Ive always hated it, and barely ever used it. This gives off literally zero colour. Its meant to be half light green and half light pink (someone tell me why I ever even thought these would be good colours?). However, its so light it doesnt give off any colour at all, it just comes out as a pale powder, and not even one I could use as a white highlighter type shadow. Its jsut total rubbish, so I thought by finally just chucking it out I would count it in the P10P.

Now just a little evidence to show Ive used the products up...where I could show it anyway!

Thanks for reading!

Five Good Things For Friday

I feel like its been ages since I did one of these posts!

1. Its Davids birthday on Monday and as part of his birthday celebrations a huge bunch of us are going to town tonight, rather excited :)
Dirty Pop

2. The sun is hereeeee! I was sunbathing literally all day yesteray and to say Ive caught the sun is an understatement, absolute tomato! But thats fine by me as long as it goes brown haha, means no St Moriz for me today :D

3. Ive been going through a phase of trying the samples I seem to have accumulated. I now LOVE Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua, and have finally found my favourite tinted moisturiser in the form of Cliniques Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser, its more like a founation than a tinted moisturiser, but I really like it.
NEW Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15

4. Had a million compliments this week on my new sunglasses, and to think they were only £3 in New Look :)

5. Theres a small possibility that I may wind up sharing a house with David and three of our best friends this year for Uni, which I'm reallllly excited about, its only a thought at the minute but it could be really good if it happens!

My False Tan Routine

Ive pretty much removed false tan from my life over the winter months, I think I applied it once in January, and that was it. But now the sun is shining again and I dont feel the need to be as wrapped up, I just hate how pale my skin can look in the bright daylight. I love English Rose skin, but mine isnt this at all, its just ghostly greyish pale, and any blemishes that may arise are highlighted by this. I used to have really bad acne in my early teens on my back and chest, and I still suffer with a few spots now and again but nothing on what it used to be. But I still feel like theyre more hidden with a bit of a tan.

Anyway, stop blabbering Hayley! This is the routine I normally get in once I start tanning regularly in order to maintain my tan so it goes on evenly and stays even without coming off all patchy.

Day 1. In preparation for starting my tanning rountine I will exfoliate and shave the day before, and also apply a good body butter after showering. This will mean my skin is silky smooth for the next day. If I shave on the same day and then apply tan straight after I find it finds its way into every pore where my hair has gone, and I end up with loads of tiny dark bits on my legs where the tan has sunk into the pores a bit. It sounds disgusting, and doesnt look great so I shave the day before to avoid this.

I use Flake Away or The Breakfast Scrub both by Soap and Glory to exfoliate, Gilette Venus shaver to shave and then a Body Shop Body Butter or Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter.

Best body butters ever, smells amazing!

Day 2.
I have my shower and again apply a good body butter afterwards., focusing on any dry spots such as elbows and knees. I leave enough time for it to soak in and then I apply St Moriz Self Tanning Mousse with a tanning mitt.

St Moriz is a well known copy of the St Tropez Mousse Tanner, and is raved about all over the online beauty community. It is priced at around £3, which is amazing and means I can afford to keep up my routine. I buy tanning mitts from a cheap cosmetics store such as Semi Chem for around £4. Using the mitt means you dont get the streaky orange hands, and the velvety texture of it helps the tan go on more evenly and smoothly. I can use a mitt for about 5 times of tanning, and then I wash it. You can do this with the rest of your wash in the machine or by hand if youre worried it may stain your clothes. Ive not had this problem before but it could happen I guess. The mitt will look a dirty brown after the first use but it will still work just the same, I jsut wash it every so often to get rid of the tan build up on it.

My well loved tanning mitt looks horrible, but it works!

I tan my arms first, and pump my tanner onto the mitt not my skin. I use 2 pumps per arm, rubbing it thouroughly over the enitre arm and moving into various positions so you can see you are getting it everywhere at every angle. I do my tan in front of a mirror to make sure Im getting it even.
I then do my legs, which is usually around 3 pumps per leg, and use the same method. I then do my chest and stomach and then my back using the same method. I usually go back and repeat on my arms and legs making sure I blend out well at the shoulders, as these normally tan more on me and I find two coats is best for the look I want, not too orange but at least a bit of a difference!

The tan can look really dirty looking and scary but just go with it and it works nice :)

Always make sure to blend out onto the hands, going between each finger, and I do this with my toes as well so it doesnt look like my tan jsut stops at my ankles. Blend well into the hairline too and up the neck for a more blended and natural look, its best if you have your hair clipped up right on top of your head out of the way.

Ridiculous photo of me with my hair shoved on top of my head having just done my tan. I willlive to regret this I know, but hey were all friends here :)

Day 3.
I will shower around 24 hours after I did my tan the previous day, to make sure Ive given it time to develop and settle. Before you have the first shower, your tan can be a bit scary looking with St Moriz as the application guide colour is quite dark so you can see where to put it, you will see this all come away in the shower. Be warned, if you have a bath instead your bath water will turn a comical orangey colour! You will be left with a lovely more natural looking tan once youre out and dry.
I apply some form of moisturiser after every bath or shower when Im tanned, to keep it even looking, I find Girligo Moisturising Mist by Soap and Glory to be enough most days, or I turn to my well loved body butters if my skin is a little dry.

Day 4.
I repeat the same steps as Day 3.

Day 5.
This may sound gross, but I only shave my legs once every 5 days or so, as my hair is very light blonde and very thin, and it takes ages to grow, so I only need to shave this often, which Im quite pleased with. Understandably some people may need to more often so just carry this out a day or two earlier. I exfoliate today, ask there will be some dead skin cells by now and I want my skin to shed evenly so my tan doesnt go patchy. This step is very much the same as Day 1. I know some people say dont exfoliate and shave on the same day, but Ive always done this as my skin is not at all sensitive, I know this could irritate some skin types so jsut be aware of this if your skin is sensitive.

Day 6.
This all depends on how my tan is coming along, I will either just leave this day out or use it to false tan. I can usually go about a week but if I have a night out coming up or something I might switch it up a bit, and do it two days in a row for a deeper tan, it jsut all depends on my plans!

So I hope this was helpful in some way to some of you...Not quite sure how! But thanks for reading anyway :)

Wet n Wild i-Sparkle eyeshadow palette
I loved how cute this was when I spotted it, it comes with three different colours of eyeshadow, two double ended applicators and a mirror. I love the flower shapes in the shadow its so pretty.

Beauty UK eyeshadow and eye liner collection
I realise there are two mini palettes in the giveaway but I just loved them both. This is perfect for travelling as it contains the gel likers and eyeshadows in one. The brush included has an eyeshadow brush t one end and the other end in a slanted brush to use for the liners. You could create te perfect smokey eye with this palette, I love all the colours in this.

E.L.F Natural Radiance Blusher in "Shy"
This is a warmer pink than it looks i the picture and I think it would suit jsut about any skin tone. I love the quality of ELF blushers so I thought it fitting to include one for one of you lot to try out.

Collection 2000 Plumping Lipgloss in "Pink Taffeta"
Ive used these before and theyre lovely, and dont leave a treally noticable tingly feeling like some do. This claims that if you apply it three times a day for 28 days you will achieve fuller lips. Now I dont know how accurately true this is, but anyway its a goregeous colour and I love it.

Nivea Travel Set
I saw these in Superdrug and picked one up for this contest at the same time I got myself one because theyre so useful and cute. ALl the items are from Nivea which is a brand I love and trust. It comes with Cashmere Moments Shower Cream, Visage Gentle Cleansing Wipes (these work really nicely), Pearl & Beauty Deodorant, Nivea Creme (Im obsessed with this stuff), and a Lip Care Essentials lip balm stick. I lve all of these products and think the mini tin if the creme is so useful and handy to just chuck in your bag.

St Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse
My Holy Grial self tanner, I couldnt be without this! I thought I would chuck one in with this giveaway to give one of you a chance to try it, I know loads of you alredy love this too.

Avon Spotlight Moisturising Shimmer Gel
This stuff is gorgeous for a night out, I use it to moisturise my legs and a little bit down my arms and along my chest area and it adds a nice slight shimmer. Not in a little girls body glitter way, but in a nice grown up sexy shimmer sort of way. It also smells beautifully of the Spotlight perfume which is nice, I can descrbe scents well though!

E.L.F Nail Polish in Metal Madness
This is a perfect party colour. Its a dark blackish colour with loads of fine glittery reflects, I could sit and look it at for hours, Im like a bloogy magpie! ELF polishes are great quality too so thats a good bonus

Last but by no means least you get a looooovely packet of Mini Eggs, my personal favourite thing about Easter :)

Good Luck Everyone

Ive Caved In, and Im Not Proud...

I'm back on the bottle, and by that I mean this bottle...

The last time I went near it was August of last year, for a night out. I had become rather partial to my tanning routine all summer, saying as I wasnt having my "summer holiday" until October. I hit a point somewhere in the middle of August where I went on the sunbeds, slap on the wirst for that. It didnt help that I was working in the sunbed shop, and every girl that ccame in was perfectly sunkissed, whilst I was either pale, or had to go through the whole process of false tanning. Anyway, I got burned, and quit my job, and that was the end of that.
By this point I had my holiday, and came back off that looking rather naturally bronzed, no need for the tanning. Then winter came, and I just couldnt be bothered, and really wanted to "embrace the pale". I have done so very successfully, until this morning. I got out the shower, seen myself in the full length mirror looking like Casper the friendly ghost, and something snapped in my head. Sick of the pale, out comes the tan, and here I am, stinking of the stuff, but happy with my instant skin colour overhaul.

Dont get me wrong, I salute the porcelain skinned beauties such as my best friend Caroline, but I just look dead, and I got sick of it. Dont know how long this will last, I might get too lazy and become a walking zombie again, but for now Im a happy orange bunny :)

Totally pointless random post. But there we have it
Hope youre all well
xoxo
