Happy Birthday Glossybox: Whats in my May Glossybox?

So recently Ive been doing videos about Glossyboxes occasionally rather than a blog post, but today feels like a blogging type of day.

Im very excited by this box so Ill get straight into it and my first impressions...

How pretty is this packaging, I love that Glossybox pay such attention to detail. I almost didnt want to rip the pretty tissue paper. How cute is the little sticker saying "one" for their first birthday, even the ribbon says "Anniversary Box", very fancy. However I dont know if its jsut my box, but I didnt get a little card saying what everything is like they usually do, maybe they just forgot mine! Ill get into what was in it...

Collection 2000 Lasting Colour Gel Eyelner in Brown
Werent they changing their name to drop the "2000"? Confusing. Anyway, I was excited to give this a go, even if a little skeptical that I would ever use a brown gel liner. Im more of a blacks girl, and would never even think of buying a brown mascara. However, this has shocked me a litte by how much I like the colour. Ive given it a little swatch and its a really dark rich brown which I think would look nice, not to mention the lovely formula. I can be a bit of a makeup snob, and wasnt expecting great pigmentation or staying power from this brand, but actually its fantastic. Ive tried rubbing the swatch, wetting it and then rubbing it and it hasnt budged, not at all. Very impressed so far!

 Eldora Lashes
I was excited to see false lashes in the box as I hate to pay £5 for a pair that I will most likely ruin whilst trying and failing to apply them. However I was taken aback by the crazyness of this pair. They have rainbow colours spaced nicely between the black lashes, and then little sequin type things all over. I would never have bought these in a million years, but Im excited to give them a go! Thats the beauty of Glossybox I think.

Noble Isle Summer Rising Cornish Hedgerow Bath and Shower Gel
Many people hate getting shower gels in beauty boxes, but I happen to think theyre rather useful...especially for travel. This one will be coming to Ibiza with me. At first glance I thought this was a Molton Brown product, and it does have that kind of upmarket feel to it. The smell is lovely, just like its namesake...like an English country garden in the spring time. I look forward to using this, Ill feel all posh and grown up haha.

Neals Yard Rehydrating Rose Daily Moisture
I was excited to see a Neals Yard product in the box. Ive never tried anything from them but theyve always been a brand thats intrigued me. I was a little disappointed to see the product was rose scented, as Ive generally hated rose scented things in the past. However this smells lovely, and along with a few other rose products Ive got in recent Glossyboxes, it has changed my feelings towards the rosey scent. This doesnt smell like old ladies at all, its floral but not too heavy, and very spring time-ish. Im excited to try it out properly after my bath tonight!

Lolita Lempicka and Lolita Lempicka L'Eau en Blanc Eau De Parfums
Ah the infamous perfume sample. These normally really annoy me as I have never had a perfume sample Ive actually liked from past Glossyboxes (bar the Vanitas Versace one). These are an exception, I really like them both. Ive tried the original one in department stores before and always liked it but not enough to buy it...maybe owning this sample will convince me I need the bottle in my life. The bottles are both absolutely gorgeous by the way! The second one is more light and powdery than the original, it reminds me of the powder puffs my Grandma used to use, but in a good way. Im no good at descirbing scents, but both are quite unusual and Im glad they were in the box.

Last but not least the lovely people at Glossybox slipped in a few little Birthday extras. A cute little pink balloon, which is inflated in the first picture, and a nice handy compact mirror. A girl can never have too many compacts.

If you couldnt already tell Im really pleased with this box. In the past Ive recieved boxes that didnt really thrill me, but this one has restored my faith in Glossybox and Ive regained my excitement for it!

Thanks for reading

March Glossybox The Harrods Edition

The world and his wife, and her cat, post about the contents of their Glossybox every single month, which is why I rarely do as I feel everyone else has got it covered. Especially those who recieve it early, the ones who lead me to peak at whats inside and ruin my own suprise! But after looking at quite a feew other bloggers posts on it I feel I got quite a few different products to most people, so felt I could happily blog about it for you now. I got a little photo happy...Sorry its a mammoth post!

I absolutely love Harrods, despite feeling like the poorest girl in the world whilst in there, its a gorgeous place, so I was excited to hear about this collaboration with Glossybox.

Loving the little Harrods ribbon, I get easily excited by this kind of thing.

Personally I resist the urge to read the card before I open it up as I dont want to ruin my suprise, but it really handy to have to read over afterwards.

So this is what I saw when I unpeeled the tissue paper, very pleased to say the least. I will admit I was searching fo a mini Burberry lipstick, but Im fine with it as the colours the chose for them werent ones I would wear anyway. Now on to the individual products...

Bliss Blood Orange and White Pepper Body Butter
This is the first product Ive tried from  Bliss, a brand Ive heard quite a bit about. Its for reasons like that I love Glossybox (or whatever service you choose). The product itself is nice. Its not revolutionary,, but its a body butter and thats all I was expecting, and it does as a body butter should. Its thick but easily spreadable, Im making it sound like a tub of Philadelphia. It sinks in nicely and quicly, and doesnt leave a greasy sheen. The name "blood orange" wasnt the most attractive thing to me, but it actually smells quite nice, nothing amazing, just kind of orangey and also what I assume is white pepper as I havent a clue what that smells like. Also the samle size is huge at 50ml so very impressed! Nice product that Ill use up, but still not a patch on my Soap and Glory Righteous Butter! This retails at around £20-£25 in deartment stores and online for 200ml, which I find slightly too much for what it is, but never the less a nice product.

Clarins Extra Firming Body Cream
I havent had a chance to test this out on the firming side of things as Ive only tried it ot s far on my hands as Id just covered myself in the Bliss one. Some may complain about getting 2 body creams in one box but it really doesnt bother me. I cant wait to try this properly, especially on my thighs to really put the firming to the test. If it wrks it could be my little miracle product to beat the wobbly legs for on holiday! It sinks in really quickly and has a kind of fresh and expensive scent to it, nothing overpowering or crazy, just nice. I really like Clarins so Im always happy to try more of their products. I think its great how Glossybox have followed up the firming face creams with the matching body cream, clever. The sample size is 30ml which I think is a good amount. This retails around £40 for 200ml at all the usual department stores, which is really out of my price range, but for that amount I would like to hope the firming stuff really works, which may just be worth it!

Lancome Juicy Tube in Toffee RnB 93
Ive heard about these before but never realy been attracted to purchasing one, Im glad to have it to try out though. I havent put this on yet so I cant comment much on it, apart from the fact it smels amazing, like fudge or toffee. I dont know whether the names corrospond with the scent/flavour or if they all smell this way, either way I want to eat it! The colour isnt usually one I would go for, but th little gold reflects will look very pretty with a tan on a summers day. Im not usually a big fan of squeezy tube glosses, I find ones with wands much easir to apply but Ill certainly give this a go. It retails for around £14 for a 15ml tube and comes in loads of different colours. Considering the tube I gt was 7ml I think this is a very generous sample!

Revive Intensite Creme Lustre SPF 30
Wow thats certainly a mouthful! I havent used this yet but Im going to try it out tomorrow and if I like it Im going to save it to take to Ibiza with me as its a great travel size saying as its only a teeny pot of 7ml. I know I wont be repurchasing it though as the 60ml pot is alone £260! Literally crazy. I wouldnt spend tha amount on a face cream if I won the lottery, unless it turned me into Rachel McAdams or something, which this wont.

Versace Vantas Versace Eau De Parfum
Im usually someone that hates perfume samples in these boxes. Ive yet to find one I like and I often just throw them away, such a waste! However this one caught my attention, its in a glass bottle, not a little vial stuck to carboard. It is also Versace, score! The bottle is gorgeous, I like teeny things, and this is certainly that, and its so pretty. I love the detail on the lid in the picture below. You get 4,5 ml which I think is very generous ccnsidering the perfume is around £55 for a 50ml bottle. The scent itself when I first smelt it immediately reminded me of my grandma, as if it is something she would wear. In a way I kind of liked that, not to wear myself but the smell reminded me of her in a nice way. I put it on anyways and I actually liked it quite a lot the longer I had it on. Im no good at describing scents but the card says it smells of tiare flower, lime and freesia. Its not the most unusl or suprising scent, but its quite nice so Im happy with it.

If you got to the end thankyou very much for reading!
Whats your favourite product this month?

My February Glossybox

This month's Glossybox was always going to seem like a let down to a lot of people afte rth epast two being special edition ones for Christmas and Valentines, so this one was more back to usual with the pale pink and black packaging and products that didnt xctly scream luxury of the Christmas one such as the Deborah Lippman polish of Decembers box. However I really like what I got in mine, what Ive tried so far which consists of these products:

The Coco Shambhala Invigorating Shower Gel is really nice. I was never much of a fan of shower gels in beauty boxes but since the Rituls one Ive been converted. I chucked this one straight in my travel bag for coming to Manchester for me and David t use whilst were here. Its really fresh scented and leaves you feeling squeaky clean the way a soap does, so its a big thumbs up from both me and David as hes usually a soap man so really liked how this had a similar effect.

The Paul Mitchell Express Style Quick Slip is kind of like a stying gel type product, which Im not ure Ill get much use ut of saying as my hair is long and thin and I never really do much with it. I think Ill be donating this to my brother who has Harry Styles-esque hair and he may get better use out of it. It does smell lovely though.

The BM Beauty Eyeshadow Pigment in Wolf Howl is gorgeous and probably, suprisingly, my favourite from the box this month. Im never normally a fan of pigments due to the mess factor bt this is so pretty I can put up with it.

The picture doesnt do it justice and swatch photos werent either, but it work best wet like most pgiments and gives a gorgeous sheen of purple pearlescentness and its very multitonal wwith hints of blue and green coming through, like petrol. Amazing and something I would never have bought myself but Glossybox has broguht me to a product I love, which is kind of the whole point of the service isnt it?

The DuWop Lip Venom lipgloss of Buttescotch is another lovely product. It has just enough of the "li vemon" tingle to notice it but not as overpowering as Soap and Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker. Its a nice sensation, and the formulaton isnt too sticky, even though I dont really mind a bit of stickyness as I find it makes the lipgloss stay on longer. The colour is really nice but isnt to opaque ont he lips, more of a sheer sheen with just a hint of the colour so can be worn with mst lipstic but I would choose to wear it with a nude lip. Ill definately get use out of this.

Lastly the imPress press on manicure. Im really happy to get this in my box as I find the concept interesting and Im excited to try it out and see how good it is, particualy how long they stay on for! I probably wouldnt go for zebra print by choice, a bit Kat Slater I feel, but it could look quite fun I guess! Ive never seen these anywhere before so Im very intrigued!

What did you get in your box?
Any recommendations on how I could use the Paul Mitchell styling product would be greatly appreciated!

December Empties

Not many products finished up this month, and Im not too sure wh its just how its gone this month. Im pretty excited to be trying out loads of new things in the next few months, things I got for Christmas and other things I intend to purchase very soon so Ill keep you updated on that too!

So this month I finished up the packet of bath salts from Dead Sea Spa Magik. I got these with my Glossybox one month and its the first thing Ive actually finished from the Glossybox products Ive received. However, that doesnt mean they were my favourite, I simply had to use them up quite quickly because of the awkward packaging. Once you cut open the packet there wasnt any real way of sealing it back up, which led to me spilling a load of it into one of my drawers, which I stil have to clean out! I was pleased with the size of this sample though, 250g of bath salts aint too bad, and I got about 4 or 5 baths out of this packet. The product itself isnt something I would repurchase, as I cant say I felt liek it did too much. It didnt have any scet at all which I found lsightly boring, and also I cant say I noticed any of the ski softening benefits it claims to provide. The packaging also says it relieves aching muscles, and I used this after a particularly strenuous day and didnt really find it did anything at all. Never mind, at least its used up and not spilling in my drawers now!

Im particularly sad to come to the end of my bottle of Kylie Minogues Darling perfume. This was once my every-day go to perfume that I would throw in my bag every single day, and that was around 2 years ago and this is still the same bottle that I owned then. Its really lasted me well. Im ont going to try and attempt to describe the scent because Im rubbish at it, but it smells quite unique...I would notice it a mile off as its not like anything else I own. I dont think Ill repurchase it as I generally dont buy myself perfume and only get it as gifts, and there are so many others I want to try and like much more than this one at the minute. But the secnt will always transport me straight back to 2009, and thts why I love it :)

Ive worked my way through yet another tub of The Body Shop's Body Butter, and this tim its the coconut one...one of my personal favourites. I never actually buy myself these, but I love them and always somehow seem to aquire a few throughout the year. This one originally was in a gift set my Dad recieved amongst shaving stuff and aftershave and he gave it to me as he wasnt going to use it. These little 50ml pos last FOREVER ecause of the thick and rich consistency of the butter. For me this is defnately one I would put on at night before bed as I find it takes a while to sink in but you wake up with lovely silky smooth skin and the scent is amazing. I have a mango one sat waiting for me to break into, as well as my beloved Righteous Butter so Im all stocked up with butters for now so wont be repurcashing this for the time being. I would still definately recommend it to anyone though!

Whats in my November Glossybox

Ive been eagerly anticipating this months Glossybox as last months was the first one I got and I really loved it. I was overjoyed when I heard the postman at the door and ran upstairs with my box and turned on my video camera to record opening my box. Turns out, the camera wasnt recording! So I opened it up and revealed its contents in front of nobody. But Im that nice I sat and recorded it again, apart from it was already open, just to show you what was inside and my first thoughts.

Its clear now that people are getting differin products in their boxes, which sometimes I like and sometimes I dont, when I see that other people have something I would have prefered to what I got in mine.

Anyway, heres a sneaky look at what I got in my Glossybox...

And heres the video where I ramble on endlessly like a loon....

My Most Recent Youtubing Escapades!

I may still seem slightly awkward in front of the camera, but Im really loving doing youtube videos. I still love my blog to bits, its my baby, but Ive found filming videos to be good fun too. Im still gettin to grips with my camera, and Im trying to learn how to edit videos in some way but Im getting there!

Heres my two most recent videos....

In this video I talk about the blush products I own, and what I think about each one...

I decided to film a video on the products I got in the October Glossybox after Id had a few weeks to test them out and decide what I thought of them...

Apologies for having an awful cold in these videos, my sniffling and croaky video annoys me so Im guessing its annoying for you guys!

Please take a look and if you like you could subscribe, it would mean SOOO much to me!

Thanks my lovelies

October Glossybox

I wasnt too sure whether or not to do a post on this saying as my reading list becomes packed with them everytime the glossyboxes are sent out. However, I do like to see what comes in them, and I was very excited to recieve my very first Glossybox this month! So Ill keep it hort and sweet with a few badly taken pictures thrown in....

How pretty is the packaging?! I think thats half of what I love about it. Ive already found a use for the pretty pink box.

Because its the 6th month that Glossybox has been running they included six products instead of five, how nice it that!

In the box was:

Dermalogica make-up bag :- Handy, and really good quality!

Dermalogica Age Smart Thermafoliant and Masque :- I havent tried either of these yet but Im dying to!

Dermalogica Lip Treatment :- I have this in now, its basically like a lip balm, but its sooo smooth and good quality, really moisturising.

Stila Eyeliner in Moray :- This is a really dark brown with gold shimmer, so creamy and soft too, love it.

Leighton Denny Nail Polish in Sex Kitten :- Im a little disappointed after seeing the colours other girls got in this were lovely pinks and corals which I would have worn a lit more than this silvery blue. But Im lookoing forward to trying it as Ive never had a Leighton Denny polish before.

Three Perfume Samples from Robert Piguet :- Ive had a little sniff of each of these, theyre all alright, and all very different. But Im not going to judge them just yet as I think you really have to test them out on your sin before you can decide what you think of them.

I love that there are two full size items in here, very well done Glossybox!
I cant wait for next months to arrive already

xoxo
