Benefit Hervana

Ever since I saw Benefit's Hervana blush launch I knew I wanted it. All of the more muted tones swirled into it were right up my street, only Benefit's price points werent so I waited and asked for it for Christmas just gone. I always feel that if you have to wait a long time for something you want you really appreciate it more when you eventually get it, and that was the case with Hervana for me.

Firstly, I adore the packaging and love the quirky, fun names and themes that Benefit always seem to get spot on. I think this box and product design are my favourite so far.

As you can see Ive actually used the little brush that comes free in the box. Usually these brushes arent up to much but I really like tat this is a little angled one and actually works perfectly well and will be great for travel.

Now getting down to whats important, the product. Its a gorgeous swirled patterned blush of four different shades, a cream, a mid toned pink, a more rosey pink and a purpley fuschia shade. I find the best colour is given by swirling all the colours together to give a nice fresh pinky glow to the cheeks. It gives a slightly shimmery finish but nothing too full on as only the two lighter shades appear to be properly shimmery.

Im so glad to have this added to my collection, its a great every day blush and goes with just bout any mke-up look I want to do so great value for money. Hervana retails for around £24, which may seem steep but these Benefit boxed blushes seriously last ages as you get 8 grams of product. With the likes of MAC blushes you get 6 grams so the high price isnt too bad really, especially with colours like this that will get a lot of use.

July Favourites

In recent months Ive been talking abut my monthly favourites over on my youtube channel rather than here on my blog. Basically, I was just a little too lazy to do both. From now on Ive decided to still talk in depth on my video, and just post a quick overview and picture here so you can see the products more in depth.

You can view the video and here me jabbering on HERE!

Kiko Guava Pink Lipgloss - Ive already done a mini review and close ups/swatches of this lipgloss in this post about Kiko as a brand overall. Ive used it everyday since I got it, the perfect sheer pink, non-sticky gloss!

Origins Out Of Trouble 10 Minute Mask - This product along with several others from this post are going to get their own full review posts in the near future (I've got the blogging bug again), so I wont go too much into it. Basically, this has worked wonders on my spotty chin, a lovely image for you all I'm sure!

Clinique High Impact Mascara - I wasn't expecting much fro this little sample, and have been nicely surprised to find myself really enjoying using it. Its really buildable, for subtle lashes or full on spidery ones depending on your preference. I'm pretty sure Ill purchase the full size at some point.

Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel - My beauty discovery of the year so far, a full on rave review is to come. It is safe to say that I fully bought in to the bloggers hype surrounding this but I'm so glad I did. Its totally worth all the praise it gets, and I couldn't imagine my makeup collection without it now.

Benefit High Beam - This is the ultimate love/hate product for me. I love the amazing glow it gives, but hate how it smushes my foundation around when I apply it (good technical word there). However, since I've recently only been wearing Origins Vitazing through the day, I have no such foundation-smushing issues. This means Ive been freely using this without any worries and have had so many compliments on my complexion recently all down to this little beauty. Safely on the love side of the love/hate relationship for now at least.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette - Again, another product with its own post on the way. I'm sure you've seen it many times already, but I want to give my own thoughts on it anyway. Since its here in my favourites, its safe to assume Im loving using it. Its maybe not the most necessary purchase Ive made this year but definitely not one I regret in the slightest, especially with £5 off in duty free!

Thanks for reading! If you would like t hear my thoughts in more detail, 12 and a half minutes of more detail to be exact, then dont forget to just click the link at the top!

Unloved Products Mini Giveaway

I cant call this a prope giveaway, because these things have been used (once or twice at most) so I cant g on as if this i some fantastic giveaway. The reality is, I have too much stuff, and abut 80% of it never gets used as I constantly go back to the old favourites, negleting the rest. Im having a little spring clean of my stuff and thought why not give the products that Ive barely touched to other people who would put them to better use. Of course Im not going to try and sell odds and ends like this, so instead its a "giveaway". All you have to do is comment on which three products out of this bunch you would most like to receive, and a contact email address so I can messge you to get a postal address! You may or may not get exactly which ones you ask for depending on the amount of people requesting it, but hey its all free so who cares, youll get a nice little suprise in the post of products you can try out! Naughty Little Splurge!

Ive been slightly naughty and spent some of my student loan on items that were rather expensive and really I didnt need. But I love them all so I really dont care! Apologies for the flash photos....

 Nars Turkish Delight Lipgloss
Im gunna be honest, I only got this after Kim Kardashian said she wears it all the time. My boyfriend laughed hysterically at me for this. But Im glad I got it really because it is really easy to wear and would look lovely on anyone. The gloss isnt too sticky too which is great. It is on the pricey side but I'd really recommend it. I was far too excited to buy my first ever Nars product haha.

Benefits Bella Bamba

I've lusted after this ever since it launched, always swatching it at the counters and needing it in my life. Now I have it and have used it literally every day since I bought it. As you can see above its a perfect pink blush that I think would suit anyone. Its easy to wear subtle for through the day or can be built up for evenings. I love the shimmer in it too, it makes a really nice sheen across you cheeks without looking TOO sparkly. Not to mention I could sit and look at the packaging all day - soooo pretty! It smells amazing too so thats a nice bonus. Seriously love this.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Sun Defence for Face SPF 50
This is one of my more practical purchases. Ive been looking for a good strong facial SPF for when I go away in a few weeks, and I stumbled across this one so I bought it on a whim and now I use it everyday under my make-up. It smells lovely and is really moisturising, and also a great make-up base. The SPF 50 is going to be perfect for my holiday, but Ill be using it all the time from now on to protect my skin from sun damage every day to try my best to prevent those sneaky wrinkles from creeping up on me. I know, Im only 20 but it cant do any harm.

MAC Mythical Eyeshadow
I already mentioned this in my September Favourites post as Ive loved it that much since I bought it. Its a gorgeous coppery redish brown that Ive found really nice to incorporate into my everyday make-up for Autumn. Its a lovely colour for through the crease, Ive been using it with Urban Decay's Sin over the lid with this in the crease, or MACs All That Glitters. Its really pretty worn like that and Ive already got a lot of use out of it. Its Ltd Edition in the MAC Me Over Collection but its still available! I was really drawn to Carbonized too which was a really beautiful dark greyish colour which I want to get before the collection ends. These colours really are much prettier in person than on the website though so I would go see them for yourself as the site does them no justice (neither do my photos).

MAC Girl About Town Lipstick (Amplified)
This lipstick has been on my MAC lustlist for well over a year now so I thought it was about time I bought it. I had just bought a little black dress for my birthday and I was discussing with my friend how to incorporate some colour into my look for the night, we were at the MAC counter and this just stood out to me. It was the perfect lipstick to compliment my all black outfit and spice it up a bit. It is soooo pigmented and stays on for hours, the next morning my lips were still stained the bright pinky colour! Its now a staple lipstick for me for evenings and nights out and I cant wait to use it a lot more.

Easy/Laid Back Summer FOTD/ OOTD/ NOTD

This is a bit of a mish mash post, as I felt my entire look today represented my entire look for summer, most days anyway. Not too much make up, something cool and comfortable and bright nails....

FOTD:
Face:
Avon Solutions Visual Perfection Tinted Moisturiser
Benefit Posie Tint
MAC MSF in Petticoat
ELF Makeup Mist and Set

Eyes:
MAC Paintpot in Vintage Selection
Avon Supershock Mascara
Avon Supershock Eyeliner

Lips:
Avon Glazewear Shine lipgloss in Pink Watermelon

Wearing lots of heavy make-up feels horrible on my face on a sunny day like today, so I usually opt for a tined moisturiser ahead of my usual foundation. Also the setting mist is a less cakey and more refreshing alternative to setting powder. A cheek tint is more ffective for summer as it stays put longer than a powder blush and gives a more fresh and natural look. I also dont want to bother with lots of blending of eyeshadows when Im sat in the sun all day so I jst sweep on a little of a paintpot and its simple and looks good all day. I love this lipgloss for summer as its so pigmented and gives a bright pop to my face.

OOTD:
My clothes are entirely from the River Island sale, shorts for £10 and vest for £4...BARGAIN. I love little demin shorts for summer paired with any vest top really. This is kind of my go to outfit for sunny days or on holiday. I jsut wore black flip flops from Accessorize and a pair of aviator sunglasses I found in New Look for around £4.

NOTD:
I just put on one coat of Barry M's Pink Flamingo this morning. It applies so well, for some reason even better than most of the nail polish I have from his brand. I put it on my toes too and I just love it for summer. Im more into bright nails rather than pastel nails for summer as I feel they really spice up your look and bring out a tan. This is my very favourite bright pink too.

Hope I didnt bore you with a loooong post! It feels good to be writing again :)
xoxo
