50 Things To Do In 2011

Last year I made a list of 100 things I wanted to attempt, or acheive by the end of 2010. Creating the list was a bit of fun at first, listing things like "learn to ride a horse" which in reality I wasnt gonig to get round to, but I ended up putting in things like "spend more time with my dad". Things I should and can do. Last time I read through the list, I think I'd achieved about 18 of my goals, bearing in mind some of them can only be measured after the full year like "drink water every day".

Anyways, I thought this year it could be interesting to do a similar list but on my blog, and I could tag my readers to do one as well, its a good way to motivate yourself and get you thinking about even the smallest things you would like to do better or change in the coming year. Ive shortened my list to 50 as 100 was a bit too difficult and long, but you can do as many or as little as you like!

So without further ado...

1. Take time out to read more.
2. Exfoliate more often.
3. Take breaks without nail varnish so my nails aren't so weak
4. Drink water every day
5. Go to the gym at least once a week
6. Take fruit for breaks at college rather than spending a fortune in the vending machines
7. Get 3 stars on every angry birds level, dont judge!
8. Finally pass my driving test
9. Get distinctions on my college courses
10. Get in to Northumbria Uni
11. Stop losing my phone charger
12.Travel somewhere Ive never been before
13. See Legally Blonde in London
14. Get a good camera
15. Stop burning my fingers when I light candles
16. Persevere with sales rails rather than being put off by them
17. Make a good charity shop purchase
18. Do a car boot sale of all my old stuff
19. Find new teas that I might like
20. Finally have my holiday with the girls
21. Teach my little cousin not to be afraid of the water and maybe even teach her to swim
22. Learn a new craft
23. Work my way through every recipe in a cookbook(yet to purchase one)
24. Stay awake through films my boyfriend wants me to watch rather than falling asleep
25. Train myself to like nachos so the smell of them in the cinema isnt so bad
26. Order something Ive never thought of trying in a restaurant (Im a picky eater)
27. Get into a proper sleeping routine
28. Actually start saving up for New York
29. Spend less money on junk food and actually cook stuff, stop being lazy with my food!
30. Start watchig Gossip Girl because every says I would love it
31. Decorate my room at dads new house and generally help him with "Project Oxford Ave."
32. Try every Lush Bubble Bar that there is
33. Finally get skin matched for MAC foundation
34. By September have somewhere stable to live, possibly my own flat, and definately only live in one house rather than having all of my belongings split three ways.
35. Make a genuine friend out of blogging, why not :)
36. Help out a friend in need, because they've done it all for me
37. Start training to do a marathon for MacMillan Cancer Care in 2012
38. Get my ears pierced
39. See those friends who I miss loads more
40. Treat my hair better and get it trimmed more often
41. Be a tidyer and more organised person in general
42. Get a good job
43. Continue on my blogging journey throughout the whole year
44. Do something memorable for my nana, I dont know what yet, but she deserves something good to come her way.
45. Take Molly out on the fields. Yes my dog has never been let off her lead on a field, she needs to get over her fear of dogs first. Im determined to get her over it.
46. Watch a horror film, this is a big ask for me.
47. Go camping
48. Eat at Romanos again (last time our meal for two was £100, and was worth every penny)
49. See Rihanna live again
50. Take my boyfriend to feed the lambs at Whitehouse farm, hes never fed a lamb, I consider this as something that has to be done.

Sexy Mother Pucker!

Yes, you read right...I'm refering to the Soap & Glory lipgloss which I'm sure most of you are aware of anyway. Ive heard loads about it and how its meant to "plump" your lips. I've never been sucked in by it, to me lipgloss is just lipgloss and not really something Im obsessed with.

However, I recieved the "Pink Big" Soap & Glory gift set for Christmas (lucky girl). I was aware that it was on sale for £25 in Boots down from £60 and told my dad. He didnt have a clue what it wa sso when we were Christmas shopping in the Mterocentre I dragged him into Boots and people were queueing for miles to get there hands on them as soon as the staff brought them out, it was crazy! But we picked a few up for my family and one for me!

So whats in it I hear you ask?...

- Clean On Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel
- The Righteous Butter Body Butter
- Flake Away Body Scrub
- Girligo Scented Body Moisturising Mist
- Glad Hair Day Ultra-Shine Super-Shampoo
- The Breakfast Scrub Body Smoother
- Hand Food Hydrating Hand Cream
- Scrub Your Nose In It Face Scrub And Mask
- Super Colour Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss in ‘Pink Apricot’
- Off Your Face Cleansing Wipes
- Giant Super Sudsy Shower Puff

PLUS: Bonus foldable fabric storage box!

And every item is full size as well! Crazy for £25 I think!

Anyway, my point was that until I recieved the lipgloss in this gift set I had never been overly attracted to buying it. How wrong was I to bypass it! Ive fell for the gimicky tingly lip thing hook line and sinker, it feels mad. Ive had it on all my female family members and they all hate the feel of it, but its like I'm addicted. If the tingle wears off, which does take a while, I have to reapply to get the feeling back. Not only that, the "pink apricot" colour is gorgeous, it matches my skin tone perfectly, and theres no need for any lipstick underneath it. This stuff lasts ages once applied, its really not going anywhere unless you try your very hardest.

This has been my new favourite lipgloss by miles since Christmas day, I havnt used any other lip product at all! Thats saying a lot coming from me.

So thats a big 5 stars for Soap and Glory once again!

I'm SOOOO Excited!

I have been absent from my blog over Christmas and even though its only been a few days I've really missed it!

I've been really ill over Christmas with what my whole family is insisting was swine flu. I'm not so sure but it was definately more than your average winter cold. Anyhow I battled on through Christmas and still had a lovely time even though I could'nt eat anything, I may be the only person ever to come out of Christmas a few pounds lighter. In my poorly state I didnt take any photos, and forgot to take any of my presents in the past few days and I've now found "homes" for most of my stuff but I'll try and dig them out and do a Christmas present haul to show you lot, as were all a bit nosey like that.

I got a fantastic suprise as I was reading through the blogs and catching up on my blog reading that Ive left for a few days, and I came across the winners post of a competition I entered at the beginning of September....and you'll never guess who won! ME! The girl who never wins anything won :D YEY!

The contest was an advent competition with a prize unveiled each day leading to Christmas by Kirsty at Fashion Face. I lvoed the idea and was the first to enter and I was so suprised to find that I'd won! So thankyou Kirsty! I can't wait to recieve my prizes and Ill do a post on it when my package arrives.

Im going to squeeze in a few "proper" posts before I go away with my boyfriend for New Year, rather than these rambly update ones, but for now its over and out from a very happy and spoiled girl.

Bad Blogger.

Yep thats me. I've pretty much ground to a halt recently on the blogging front. I've just been so busy with everything else I havnt had the time to squeeze posts in. However I havnt totally forgotten you guys, I've been taking photos so theres a few posts I have in mind, a few hauls, a winners and losers of 2010 post and the odd FOTD or NOTD here and there. Its just getting enough time to upload photos.

This past week has been spent catching up on coursework, and college is all done until January so I dont have to think about that for a while! All manner of Christmassy things have been filling my time, and altouhgh I really enjoy blogging, most things I have to do will end up on the backburner in favour of anything to do with Christmas for these few weeks of the year. So Im very sorry but I promise I will try my best to squeeze some in and Ill throw myself right back into blogging after Christmas. Everyone loves to take some time out with their loved ones and do lovely Christmassy things Im sure, cant blame a girl for that!

Thank-you to al my gorgeous followers! I know this was a bit of a pointless post but I dont want people to think Ive jsut disappeared forever

Tag: My Beauty Story

Ive read this on a few different blogs and thought I'd give it a go as yet again I can't get to sleep on an evening where I really should have an early night as theres a busy day ahead tomorrow...on with the post.

1. How old were you when you first started wearing makeup?
I was pretty much a late bloomer where make-up is concerned. I used to get the little girls make-up sets to play about with and didnt really bother with anything apart from nail varnish. I liked to muck about with my mams make-up bag but never really got into it until I was around 15. Even then it was a bit of eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss and I was done. In year 11 I started wearing a light foundation to school along with mascara and eyeliner and eyeshadow if I went anywhere "special". Once I left school I really started wearing full make-up a lot, and it was about a year ago when I had jsut turned 18 when I really got into trying different brands and different kinds of make-up.

2. How did you get into makeup?

Its kind of sad and annoying, but I suppose its the same for most girls. Really jsut because thats what I thought women do and thats what I should then do. Also once I tried a bit of it I liked how it made me look compared to without it, so it just contnued from there.

3. What are your favourite brands?
My favourite is MAC, its good quality but desnt come with a HUGE designer price tag. Drugstore brands I use a lot are Maxfactor and Rimmel.

4. What does makeup mean to you?

Like a lot of girls, it makes me feel much more confident. This doesnt mean I need full make-up all of the time, a coat of mascara and a sweep of eyeliner and that can be ok. My eyelashes are naturally quite light so I can look slightly strange completely make-up free.

5. If you could only wear 4 products on your face what would they be?
Mascara, eyeliner, foundation, and blusher. :) Easy

6. What is your favourite thing about makeup?

How it can transform how you feel about yourself. I can feel in a crappy mood with myself, then I can jsut take a shower, do my hair and make-up and feel tons better about everything.

7. What do you think of drugstore makeup vs high end?

I think it varies. Normally I live by the phrase "you get what you pay for", but really I don't believe this is always the case. For the likes of foundations and concealers I think you have to go high end for anything really decent, but mascaras, and nail varnishes can be just as good from drugstores, such as Barry M polishes.

8. What is one tip of advice you would give to a beginner?

Take it one step at a time so you can get used to it. You dont want to be totally bare faced one day then caked in make-up the next, itll just look wierd, like an overnight change of personality. Plus if you just start using every product under the sun all at once you probably wont learn how to use each of them too well as you have so much to think about. Get something like your mascara and eyeliner right first, then find a foundation that suits you or something.

9. What is one makeup trend you never understood?

False tanned face with concealer on the lips. Just why?

10. What do you think of the beauty blogging community?
I love it. Its so good to be able to read and share genuine opinions from normal girls rather than just promotional material from companies or celebrities paid to say a product works.

30 Day Challenge: Day 30! Hurrah!

So this is the last of my 30 day challenge posts, and although some may have been a little late, hey I still finished each one! This jsut means I'm going to have to stop being lazy relying on these posts to fill out my blog, time for some real hardcore blogging!

But for now, the last post asks for a photo of when I was happy. I'd say Im pretty happy most of the time so as usual I cant pick just one, here goes...

March 2010
A trip to the Langdale Hotel, yes that is a bath tub in the background and the tap came from the ceiling, and the bed was triple king size! With full unlimited use of the hotel's spa. My boyfriend knows how to treat a girl. :)

Halloween 2008
The first photo of me and David, who knew we would still be together 2 years later.

December 1999
Me and my best friend Jen before we went to see the Spice Girls in London, how cute were we haha! I had the velvet trend down way back then.

June 2008
Year 11 prom, needless to say my hairdresser was sacked that week, but we had a lovely time, I still have my dress I refuse to sell it.

May 2008
Last week of school, Year 11 relaly was the best year of school I miss it so much! These were my four best girls at school, still love them millions, wish we got to see each other every day still.

Oops, think I did a few too many. Time to stop Hayley haha.
Anyhow, thats th elast of the Challenge posts so you can look forward to better posts to come.

30 Day Challenge: Day 29

I'm finally nearing the end of this challenge, and it honestly really has dragged, but at least its got me blogging often!

Day 29 asks for a photo of someone I find attractive. Normally I would just immediately stick a picutre of David Beckham here and that would be done. But I already put him in a post of who was my first childhood crush. So someone I'm currently finding attractive...hmm.

Mr Ryan Reynolds is rather gorgeous I believe.
Hes the reaosn I watched The Proposal a million times last winter, and a very good advertisement for Huge Boss.

xoxo

30 Day Challenge: Day 28

Day 28 asks for a photo of what I ate today, which I think is a bit gross to take a photo of food for some reason. So in my own way heres what I've ate today, with the help of google images...

So theres what Ive eaten today so far and its now 6pm. Ive ate really bad today as Ive been at college from 9 until half 5. Tuesdays is always a rubbishy food day for me. Any tips on how I can eat healthier with only tiny breaks and lunch time for such a long day?

xoxo

30 Day Challenge: Day 27

Ive been slightly slack with my blog recently, so sorry wonderful followers! I've seen a number of bloggers apologising for blogging less recently so I'm glad its not just me that is very busy in the run up to the Christmas festivities. It really does'nt help that my lecturers have set loads of deadlines for this week, scrooges!

Anyhow, this post requests a picture of my favourite purse. I'm not at home with the favourite bag/purse that I own, so I've decided to find a picture of a bag I really love and want.

I know lots of people want this and I don't blame them, I am in love with this bag...
Mulberry

Ahh...the Mulberry Alexa satchel *swoon*. Somehow doubt I'll be the proud owner of this for a very long time, if ever with a price tag of £750. I'm on the hunt for something similar maybe from Topshop or somewhere that isnt a total copy, but is still similar, anyone seen one?

30 Day Challenge: Day 26

I'm doing tomorrows post tonight, as I wont be able to have access to the internet tomorrow :(.
This challenge asks for someone I look up to, I thought about putting some celebrity that I really love like Beyonce, Rihanna or even Peter Kay or someone. Altohugh I do look up to them, its jsut because I like what they do, the people they are and thats about it really. Which is all fine and dandy.

But the people I really look up to the most are my parents *cheeseball*. Theyve both been through hell and back and although theyre divorced theyre all the happier for it which is better for everyone all round. I love them both to death and I really hope things are going to work out for what they want from their lives. I lvoe the partners theyre with now, and Ii see them as real good friends of mine which is lovely. Love you mammy and daddy :)

Bit of a random post I know but there you have it.

Five Good Things

One.
Being given money to go choose your own Christmas presents from older relatives. I got loads of stuff for myself today the my grandparents are wrapping up and keeping me for Christmas, I still get suprises from my parents and my boyfriend, so its good to know that I'm getting stuff I want and need as well as suprises. Beats getting stuff you dont really like and having to do the fake "Thankyou I love it!" smile. Everyones a winner.
79 Ideas - a blog about decoration, design, decor, fashion, food and other pretty things

Two.
Saying Happy Chrismukkah and fellow fans of The OC lighting up at the memory of Seth Cohen.
seth cohen | Tumblr

Three.
Good make-up, clothes and hair days when you run into a certain someone in town who you just don't want to look like crap in front of, even if it is all in the past. You girls know what I mean. Its just a good feeling.

Four.
Recieving Christmas cards, proving its the thought that counts, I love getting and giving cards.
nany-photography

Five.
My advent candle is getting smaller by the day and its a cute kinda stumpy size now, which can only mean its getting closer and closer to Santy coming!

Can you tell I'm in total Christmas mode now?
forever photography.

30 Day Challenge: Day 25

Today asks for a photo of my favourite shows. As it said shows, and not just one show I see this as an oppourtunity to put a few of my favourites instead of just one.

Anyone who has ever met me knows this is by miles my favourite show ever. I just can't get enough of it, I feel as though I'm best friends with the four girls.

I must have watched the boxsets about five times all the way through from beginning to end. I know its cheesy American drama but its soooo good. I am in love with Seth Cohen, and will marry him one day :)

Its pretty goofy I guess but I really enjoy Scrubs. My boyfriend used to watch it all the time and thats what got my into it. I like how its got the silly comedy parts but lots of the episodes have kind of a moral to them and can get quite deep and emotional too. I love all the characters, Dr Cox is hilarious, and people tell me Im like Elliot in every single way, and Im not sure if thats a compliment? Not so sure on the recent series, I prefer the orignal cast.

Oh my god, I was actually obsessed with this show. I know its a little controversial, some love it some hate it, but I couldnt get enough of watching the in's and out's of the daily lives of the L.A girls. I know its not really 100% real life, but I like to convince myself it is. It is real in some ways though as the careers the girls were getting into were so real, and all of the fashion side of it was very real and thats what I loved. Also the demise of Heidi was interesting in a wierd way to watch, I blame Spencer. I love Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port, and when they left I sort of lost interest in it, Kristin Cavallari ruins it for me.

And lastly, nothing really needs to be said on this one, everyone loves it, I LOVE Jennifer Aniston, and I wish Chandler was my best friend.

Sorry I babbled so much guys

I have....

...found this post on sugar beauty-x and thought I would fill some time while I'm babysitting. Don't worry, I'm not abandoning a baby to blog, the ids are 10 and 13. I think I might do this post each month...

I have been buying - Christmas presents, it is December you know.
I have been eating at - McDonalds, Toby Carvery and my local pizza place Donnatellos. Oops
I have visited - Middlesbrough, I was visiting some good friends, fabulous.
Best Bargain - fragrancedirect.com, genuine brand aftershaves for Christmas gifts for £10!
I have achieved - not much! Today I put up a Christmas card holder on the wall (yes, I used a drill and it all went well!), wrapped some presents and experimented with my make-up.
I've been listening to - Mumford and Sons, always.
I've been reading - Glamour and FHM, I encouraged my boyfriend to subscribe, best decision ever.
Next month I’m looking forward to - A new start. I say that now, come January 4th I'll be in my same old rut.
Next month I hope to splash some cash on - Myself, gone without new clothes for the past few months, Topshop is painful when I have to spend my money on everyone else. Selfish I know.

Haul: Avon

My latest Avon deliver arrived about a week ago, and Ive given myself this time to try out the products before I posted this haul so I can tell you what I think of them rather that just saying "I just bought this, I don't know what its like".

I love the deals you can get in Avon, this time when I spent a certain amount on make-up I recieved a free gift set, the items that I got for free will be in blue italics.

First up, Avon Senses Winter Magic shower gel - currently £1 in a 50% off deal, bargain!

I used this shower gel for the first time this evening, and its nothing short of fabulous as far as shower gels go. It smells delicious, everything Christmas should smell like, spicey and gorgeous. Since I tried Avon's Bead Burst shower gel which promised clean and moisturised skin but left an awful oily coating on my skin, I was unsure whether buying another shower gel was a bad idea. This one has totally restored my faith, I feel squeaky clean and my shower felt rather festive.

Secondly I got the Spotlight Moisturising Shimmer Gel as part of my free gift. I dont think you can buy this on its own, on the website you can only get it as part of the Spotlight gift set with the perfume and some other bits.
Im not sure how to describe the scent, its just perfumy really, and quite floral. I've swatched it on my hand and its nice and sparkly but not too over the top, just a nice sheen. However I've had loads of these kind of things in the past and never really use them, I think I'll jsut be putting it away to give someone as a gift.

When I seen the free gift I noticed the gorgeous "luxe lace" packaging of the Supershock Mascara, and as I have already tried the mascara and loved it I had to spend enough to get it free. Kind of defeating the object I may aswell have just bought it. So I bought the eyeliner and lipstick too...and another cheeky little lipstick just for the hell of it. Heres the luxe lace things I got, bad Hayley for buying based on pretty packaging.

But its worth it as I absolutely love all of them, the Supershock mascara is an old favourite of mine, look at the nice big wand... It really ads volume and length just as well as more expensive mascaras. It currently costs £5, but is normally £8.

I bought the luxe lace lipstick for £5.00 in Instant Mocha to make the full set, I'm a little OCD like that...and I got one of the Mega Impact lipsticks in Really Rosy for £8.00, just out of curiosity because of the shape.
Theyre both fantastic quality and theyre really smooth and creamy. They leave a colour stain for ages but they do need reapplied every so often, but hey I wasnt expecting miracles. Instant Mocha is a great everyday colour for me, I'm not much of a "nude girl" and this is just a nice happy medium between nude and bright I think. Really Rosy is brighter than my usual lipstick, but I'm giving it a go and I'm liking it. Its more suited for an evening as its a nice reddy pink, I'll definately be putting it to good use.

Left-Right, Supershock Gel Eyeliner, Mega Impact Really Rosy, Luxe Lace Instant Mocha

Instant Mocha, photographs more orangey than it is in real life, its not "mocha-ish", more browny. Really rosy is pretty true to life. I dont know what I thought a swatch of the eyeliner would should, apart from its my new favourite eyeliner by miles, this swatch was from one light swipe up and down and it goes on jsut like that, a dream. It stays on forever, and its just amazing. Love it!

I also got the Nailwear Pro nail varnish in my free gift. I wont got too much into that as I just did a post on it in my latest NOTD post. I do quite like the colour, and I'm glad I got in in my gift as I would'nt have bought it normally on its own. The picture isn't very good, its a really pearly lilacy colour in real life.

Overall a rather successful haul I think :) Congrats if you actually made it this far through my babblings!
xoxo

30 Day Challenge: Day 24

I went on a search through my facebook albums looking for a photo where my hair looks nice in, and really struggled. My hair always jsut looks average, I'm never particularly pleased with it. But I settled on this photo of me and my friends before a night out...

Left-Right: Natalie, Stacey, Me, Caroline.

My hairs nothing special here, just a bit more "groomed" looknig than normally I guess

xoxo

30 Day Challenge: Day 23

Today requests my first celebrity crush. I feel as though I was a late bloomer on the boy front when I think back to this. The timings of it all seem to lead to me being around 8 or 9 years old, and I'm sure most of my friends were "in love" with boy bands a good few years before me. Nevermind, these were my huge celebrity crushes, and to be honest they probably still are...

I was obsessed with Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic, Romeo and Juliet and a few years later in The Beach.
Inm not too keen on his fresh faced look and his awful hair in the first too anymore, but I must admit he is still pretty beauitful in the beach. Mmm :)

...Romeo and Juliet

...Titanic

(Bless my little heart haha)

...The Beach ;)

My other obsession that continues still today is for Mr David Beckham. I must admit I've been disgusted by some of his hairstyles, but I still hold a place in my heart for him the same as I did 10 years ago.

Aww, I actually had this on my wall next to my bed.

Its quite possible my little girly crush has spiralled considerably since then...Its okay though, I think my boyfriend fancies him more than I do!

xoxo
